my baby and i were in a car accident (he’s fine, i have broken bones in my face but that’s it) this past wednesday and my xterra was pretty much destroyed beyond repair. so now i’m getting a new one and i’m not a color kind of person i am either choosing black or white. well today i went to look at the new 2013 models and i truly cannot decide which color.
my dad is convinced that black shows dings, scratches, etc. more and that white (obviously) shows dirt. but to me black shows dirt equally as bad? i dunno
help meh. here’s a pic or 2

I live in an area that gets a lot of snow and dislike white vehicles because they are harder to see in bad conditions.

I think black shows dirt really easily. I prefer white because where I love you would be crazy (though a lot of people must be) to buy a dark car, especially one that also has a dark interior. Too hot.

Always go with black if you live in an area where you will have blizzard conditions, like poster above said – white vehicles are harder to see in the winter months/ but if you live in Arizona or something white would be alright.

@SimpleGifts: we live in memphis so we don’t get a lot of snow, and if we do it melts by 10:00AM ahahhaha

Black cars get hotter. Being from the South, I’d pick the white one.

@persianprincess: In that case, it would be safe to go with white! 😉

glad you’re okay! I like black better. Not for any real reason except I just do 🙂

Depends on where you live. If you live where there’s a lot of snow very often, white is a bad choice cause it’s harder to see. If you live where it’s hot as crap 9 months a year, a black car is going to sizzle. Both show dirt/dings/etc just as bad as the other.

The car looks better in black, but black is worse – shows scratches, dirt, etc. more. So, I voted white.

I voted black before I saw the car; I actually think it looks better in white. And I live in the South so I think a white car is more comfortable.

Out of the black and white, I would definitely go with white. Black shows dirt even faster! Have you thought about silver, though? It practically camoflages dirt :).

i’m glad that you are both ok.
i love both colours and have had both. tbh, both show dirt but the black shows dirt more.
as pp mentioned snow = black; hot = white.
you don’t get a lot of snow and i’m not sure of your average temperatures. is it mostly hot?
black is sexy but i vote white.

I feel like the black one looks more sleek, if it’s even possible for a car to look sleek? LOL – go with black!

I have a strong disdain for white cars – I think no matter how nice/expensive the car is, a white car always looks cheaper. Yes, I’m shallow. Plus I think if I’m going to spend a few thousand dollars on a car I want it to look expensive.
I also have a love affair with black cars with tinted windows. I think it speaks to my inner rapper. But black cars to get HOOOOTTTT in the summer.
