I have an “I” colored oval set in rose. I only occasionally notice warmth in certain light. I do think that rose and yellow gold provide less contrast to the diamond, and therefore hide the warmth better.

yoganurse :  colorless was important to my husband and after having my ring I’m glad he was insistent on it. Mine is an E or F, can’t remember which. It’s also set in a platinum prongs while the band is rose gold.

I have a J. It photographs very warm and tends to look less so in person. I do almost always notice some warmth, however. Personally, I think it’s pretty and specifically sourced a J because that’s where I wanted my FH to save money. I don’t regret the color one bit although, I do wish the side stones/pave were closer to the center stones color. I guess that just adds contrast though/no one would ever notice.

As the previous poster said, it depends on the side stones. There was a J/K thread a while ago that shows warmer diamonds. I have a J in white gold. I love it.

mrsttobe2019 :  Hi! I love you ring! Would you be willing to share specs? Ring size, length, width, do you happen to know the ratio? I love skinny ovals!!

Thank you! The oval is 2.01 carats, size 5.5. I love skinny ovals too! It took us forever to find this one. I think the length/width ratio is around 1.55 (I can’t remember the exact measurements)

mrsttobe2019 :  Thank you so much! This is very helpful because I chose a 2 carat equivalent with a 1.57 ratio and have been second guessing myself. Now I know I made the right decision! It’s absolutely perfect. Also, I have been set on 5x3mm ovals for the eternity band and was curious if you know the length and width of yours? It’s so nice to find someone with something similar! I keep wondering if the band I want will swallow the size solitaire we chose.

I have an I in 14k rose gold and I LOVE it. I rarely see warmth in it, and it looks so nice set in the rose gold.

I have an H, although it is IGI graded so it could possibly for closer to an I/J in GIA standards. I never see any warmth but it is also bezel set so that may have something to do with it. I would suggest going to a jeweler and having a few diamons of different color grades put side by side if you are worried the hint of color might bother you.
