so. Fiance and i decided on the grey tuxes from vera wang available at men’s wearhouse. mostly cause Fiance didn’t want to “look like a penguin”, and preferred the grey to the black. i loved the grey from the start, even though black is standard.
now, i don’t know what color to put my girls in. i originally wanted them in black, because i think black dresses look nice on everyone. but i don’t know if it would look funny with the guys in grey. i thought about silver, but i think it would look odd if the greys didn’t match. and if i found a grey to match, it would be super monochromatic. and i dunno if i want that look.
our main colors are purple, red, and “pewter”, with accents of peachy orange (only in the flowers), black, and ivory.
or if anyone has photos of bridesmaids in black and groomsmen in grey- that would be nice too.

@colorofmyheart: If your colors are purple, red and pewter i think the Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses would look good in purple!
My vote is to go for the purple!

Our guys will be in grey. The bridesmaids will be in a sea green color!

@colorofmyheart: grey is neutral so really any color you pick will look great. maybe take your inspiration from your flowers? sorry if thats not helpful, but really, grey is a blank slate.

I’m doing gray suits with a light lavender color. (Wisteria from Davids bridal) I decided on it because I couldn’t find many turqouise/teal dress options.

Were doing purple and grey too. Here’s the bridesmaid colour we chose. Love the brightness, especially for summer.

I vote for purple!
Our guys will be in grey as well, but the girls are wearing Jade and carrying pink/purple flowers.

We did silver dresses with the Vera tuxes and I was super happy with the look. (sorry heads cropped for the internets!)

Grey tuxes and lavender/lilac dresses is what we’re doing 🙂

Another purple/grey combo here . . .

We’re doing kind of the opposite of Westwood — guys will be in lighter grey, ladies in a dark pewter color. I was worried about the monochromatic, too, but they’ll have pops of yellow and orange in their accessories and flowers. I think you can really do anything with grey!

Another grey suit with silver dress bride here! We had a small wedding party with the guys wearing mis matched grey suits and my moh wearing pewter. I was happy with the look and our flowers just popped.
On the other hand purple would look great with red flowers would contrast against it. I don’t think you can go wrong with whatever you choose.

Our colours were navy/silver and I went back-and-forth a lot about what colour the girls should be in. At first I thought silver, but in the long-run went with navy.
Purple gets my vote, for a pop of colour.
