@IzzyBear:  I voted for the red! I really like the color and it definitely is something that I would be excited about if I got it in the mail – I would know for sure it was something good! I’m just wondering what color ink you would use to address them? A white? Or would black show up?

I really like the red metallic, and I agree with you that it would help the invites really stand out.

I voted red, I would have loved red envelopes but FH insisted on black. 🙂 The red is really going to make those invites pop, and stand out in the mail.

I like the red the best!  White is predictable and safe, but if you want to stand out from the rest,  then red is best!  😉

@IzzyBear: Are these from Cards & Pockets? Because if they are and you plan to hand write the addresses – do order samples and test to write on them! I was going to use one of their metallic envelopes (quartz) and the ink wouldn’t stick. It literally took hours to dry, i.e. high risk of smudging the text. That said, I went with some of their non metallic papers in the end and it came out great. So, nothing bad about the company – just a word of caution.

Of the two colour choices, I would go with white.

@IzzyBear: I’ll probably end up printing my envelopes as well, then tracing over the text with a calligraphy pen. I can draw pretty enough, but writing is a completely different thing! 🙂

I think it’s a good idea to do a print test first,t might be that the ink from the printer won’t smear as much. In case you’re curious about what other bees have had to say about this problem:

I’d go with the red! We ordered from cards and pockets as well and went with the metallic envelopes in flame…they were so pretty and people loved them! I also didn’t hand write the addresses on them and just ran them thru a printer. I can’t remember if I used a darker orange to print or navy, but they yurned out fine, a lot of people didn’t realize I printed them with the computer. I didn’t have problems with smudging either, but I didn’t pick the envelopes up right away or anything. We also used the rsvp envelops in flame…they were so cute!

I vote red.  I used Jupiter red envelopes and printed addresses on them using my color laser printer.
