I am fashionably challenged and need some help. We are getting married in early October and I had a “fall” theme even though we don’t really get a fall where we live. That being said, I have already picked out espresso brown Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses. Our wedding is not going to be formal, so no tuxes. Would khaki suits be too light for a 5pm wedding? Would black be best? We are not very traditional, so I am ok with a lighter suit. Any Suggestions would be appreciated!

I struggled with this exact same issue for our wedding last September. The khaki suits were a little too light for my liking and it was impossible to match the browns. I ended up looking for suits that were either a houndstooth or sharkskin pattern because the more muted browns looked better against the dresses than a brown that was “off”. I ended up finding suits at Kohl’s and for dirt cheap. I waited until they were 50% off, which they do periodically, and then found a 30% off coupon and ended up getting them for under $100 each. And since they were sold as separates they needed almost no alterations. I’m not 100% but I think these are the ones we ended up with:
if not, they are the same idea. I also had the guys wear ties with brown stripes that matched the maids dresses to pull it together even more. I was really happy with how it all worked out.

Those look great! I will have to check them out. I have heard several people mention Kohl’s so I will def see what they have. Plus, who doesn’t love a sale?

depending on the shade…our colors are orange and brown (bm’s are brown dresses) my shoes are orange and I’m sure the tuxes ties and stuff will be orange as well!

Those are good suggestions. I’d also suggest just taking a look at khaki colored suits and see how you like them. If you’re not worried about it being too light for an evening reception, then its a good alternative (and you won’t have to worry about the browns clashing.) You could have the guys wear brown ties and shoes, and I think it’d look pretty nice.
