My maid of honor was being measured for her dress, the manager and I were chatting. She asked about my ideas for flowers.
I told her that my girls will have ivory bouquets, and I will be carrying a bouquet of rust colored flowers.
She got a whole bunch of rust colored ribbons and hung up my gown next to a loden
color gown and held up the ribbons by my dress to get the “full effect”.
And this is what I saw…
Now, let me say here, this is absolutely nothing wrong with a St. Patrick’s Day wedding.
But our wedding is in October. And I wanted a fall theme.
In my dream world, I would switch the girls into rust colored dresses. Maid/Matron of Honor L, Bridesmaid K and Bridesmaid S are all dark haired, like me, and I wouldn’t bat an eye about putting them in rust.
Bridesmaid A is blonde, so I was a little worried, but I thought she could rock the rust too. (And when I saw that the designer features a blonde model in the rust gown, I knew we’d be good to go!)
But Bridesmaid M is a red head. I know she doesn’t like to wear pinks and oranges. I am so worried about her feeling uncomfortable on the day of the wedding.
So, do I leave my girls in the “safe” green…
…or do I switch the dresses to rust and go all in for the fall theme?
What would you do?

I would keep the green dresses with the ivory flowers. Just because you have the rust colored flowers, they won’t be up against the BMs dresses and the color won’t be a overpowering and “St Patrick’s Day-like” as you are thinking.

I agree with @AmyFarrahFowler: It won’t seem so St. Patty’s day on the day. Plus, putting a red head in a rust colored gown is just plain evil.

@beachbride1216: She is more blonde-red than red-red. But I know, I don’t want to do anything to make anyone uncomfortable. Although she told me to go for it 🙂

I like the rust…. alot. You can do so much with their bouquets then. Yeah I really like the rust.

@Jen51287: Yay! Almost day twins 🙂
The dresses are from Macy’s, but the designer is Jordan Fashios. The color is called “loden” and the particular dress pictured is style number 736.
@HisIrishPrincess: Thank you! The rust is my favorite too 🙂

I liked the rust color better THEN I read that one is a redhead so I voted for the green.

I’m usually all about going for the riskier option — I expected to be all about the orange in this case. but I have to say — I adore that green and think it will be stunning with ivory flowers. Plus, all of your girls, redhead included, will look great in that green.
As a redhead, I must say that THAT orange isn’t the worst for most redheads, but it’s still hard to pull off.

Personally, I like the rust better. And, as a redhead, I think I look like a leprechaun in anything green.
