If you want them in black, it is perfectly reasonable to ask them to be in black.

Ohhhh those are pretty! They’d be pretty in turquoise or in black, maybe you could ask them to get them dyed black so they have the shoe they love *and is easily worn after the wedding*? I would love those in turquoise!

I think black shoes would look fine. and totally understand you wanting to be the only ones with the pop of color!

Like the model in the picture, you can also have them wear silver shoes – since they have some rhinestone detail on the waist band. I think that can add a different color to their look, if that’s what they wanted.

I do think you have the right to want to have your own color shoes, different from the bridesmaids.

It’s totally your call on the shoes! It’s certainly not unreasonable to ask them to wear black shoes–black is totally versatile and, as you say, probably cheaper than dyeing shoes turquoise.

I think black would look best anyway. Plus like you said, it’s cheaper and easier for everyone.

@mrskisstobe: They think it would be fun to wear turquoise shoes and you think it would be fun for you to be the only one with a pop of color.  You are the bride and what you think would be fun wins out!  Plus, they are going to be much moe likely to be able to wear black or silver shoes than turquoise shoes.

Black shoes for the BMs, I’d say!

Many of my friends have gone through this although it’s usually the other way around…the bride wants everyone to have shoes dyed some color and people just want to wear something they have or at least can wear again. Honestly, they all realized it’s your wedding and it’s not a weird request to have them in black shoes. If any of them think it would be really fun to do a color shoe on everyone, they can do that for their wedding.
