I’m getting a shellac manicure tomorrow in preparation for enagement photos this weekend. What color should I get? Here are the options:
And here’s one of my outfits (sorry it’s sideways!):
The other outfit will be more casual, jeans, heels and some TBD top 🙂 The setting is in a garden/park with lots of natural beauty and in a downtown urban area.

I’m not a fan of really matchy matchy, so I’d nix the darker pinks. I would go with a pale pink or pearl.

@gingerlylove: Thanks! I guess I’m having a hard time deciding between 3 things really… light pink, dark pink, or french…
I don’t know that I like the matching exactly either, especially because I’ll have a different outfit with a different color scheme.

I think the Iced Coral would look great with the outfit you chose.

I think you should have a very soft neutral color, so you can tell your nails are manicured, but that won’t take away from your ring in the pictures!

@MrsElle: If the second outfit is a completely different color scheme then I would definitely go with a more neutral color. You don’t want the focus to be on the nails in your second outfit! I voted for the iced coral.

I would pick one of the first 6 more neutral colors. I don’t think your nails should take any focus in your pictures, but just look neutral and manicured. I don’t like French manicures much but that would also be a better option than a bright color, IMHO.

I think french manicures are classic and look terrific in photos, as long as your nails aren’t really long.

Neutrals or pinks. I am guilty of doing reds for big events (like when he proposed and everyone would be looking at my hand) and I am unimpressed with myself in hindsight. I wish I’d done something more neutral.

So I ended up going with Romantique — a color I didn’t consider at all! 🙂 I was going to go with Beau or Clearly Pink, but the nail tech told me those are both really sheer. So I went with the more opaque color.
Thanks for all of your advice, Bees!
