for some reason, i’m drawing a blank on what colors of shoes would go with our bridesmaids dresses.
any suggestions? i’m going to let the girls pick their own shoes, but they’ve asked for a little direction, color-wise.
here is the dress:

@blondeeebuckeye: What are your other colors, what color flowers, and where is the wedding?
I think that dress would look really pretty with strappy light silver shoes…but maybe that doesn’t work with other parts of your overall look?
Really like the dress by the way!

I think a strappy silver would go really good with that color or even some nude peep toes would be cute!

@Mrs.MedinaJr – who makes those nude pumps? I’m in love.

@musthavedietcoke: we haven’t picked out flowers yet, but i’m fairly certain i’m going with colors that are chocolate brown, lilac, and ivory. our venue is going to be outside (yes, in february) and our venue is at an old mansion and a rustic “artisan ballroom”.
i was originally thinking close toed shoes since the wedding was in february, but maybe that’s not as much of an issue as i thought…is silver “outdoorsy”? i don’t know why i’m struggling so much with this!

@TheFutureMcBride: aren’t those gorgeous?
I love them but out of my budget =(.
They are at Zappos made by RSVP name: Sascha soon after the wedding I will own them! lol

@blondeeebuckeye: Oh, I see what you mean. Those colors sound really beautiful together. I don’t think silver would be horrible (as long as its more of an understated silver, not a dark one)…
but based on your colors and other details I also like the idea of nude peep toes…or maybe even champagne or something close to it like this: http://ninashoes.com/neva-powder-sand-luster-satin–14354
I’ve seen JCrew pair a lot of pink / lavender / lilac dresses like that with pale metallics and I think they look so beautiful and definitely outdoorsy.
Sorry, this is kind of a ramble. I do LOVE your colors though!

For the purple hue family silver colors are complementary
Or the same shade of purple shoes if they can possibly find a match
If you pick a gold that clashes with purple = UGH
A black shoe pops out more than the dress UGH
White shoe with lilac color = UGH
SILVER IS THE WAY TO GO

@beatriz: ah thanks! i knew black was a no-no and i despise white shoes (yeah..bad bride!)..i didn’t think about gold shoes being a no-no too.

@musthavedietcoke: i’m totally going to have to go through my j crew catalogs and look at the shoes they pick with the lilac dresses. i didn’t even think of that until i read your post!
p.s. i looooove those shoes you posted in tea rose! not for my ladies, but for ME! 🙂

I’d go with a nude color actually. Just to be a lil different. I had a very similar color dress for my girls, they wore silver shoes. It looked nice, but if I could go back I’d switch it up a bit. But the dress you chose is beautiful, I’d love to wear it!

I would go with nude (peep toe or closed toe). I personally never ever wear silver shoes, but I do wear nude shoes, so I’d appreciate being able to wear them again. But silver does match if that’s what you go with.

if i told them they could wear silver OR nude shoes, would that clash? i don’t really care if they match, but i don’t want it to look too weird.
they can wear their own jewelry too..basically i was thinking of telling them if they wanted to wear something to make it low-key, maybe silver/white gold (they all have pretty good style, i don’t worry about someone showing up with HUGE jewelry).
