Good morning bees! Our wedding colors are grey, plum and champagne. My dress is champagne and the bridesmaids dresses are plum. The men will wear grey slacks and button down shirts, with my groom wearing a grey suit, but I can’t figure out what color his shirt will be? I look on Pinterest for inspiration but I can only find grooms wearing white shirts (I assume because it will still match the bride’s dress). Could he get away with all grey and then a plum tie? Is that too much grey? Will white look strange with my champagne dress?

What about the gray pants, gray tie, and plum shirt?

My husband wore a white shirt with a blue suit and my dress was blush. It didn’t clash, honestly I barely notice the grooms shirt but I think matching his shirt to the bridesmaids plum dress would be very prom-y to me

mskatie : these are basically my colors as well. I wore an ivory dress with a champagne underlay. My hubby and the guys all wore lilac shirts with plum ties and pocket squares. Dark Grey suits for the guys and light grey for my man.
My pics won’t load so I’ll post another time with just a picture.

mskatie : Why not white? You can match his accessories (tie, pocket square, boutonniere etc.) to your color scheme. I think there’s a reason you can’t find many colored shirts on Pinterest… probably because it’s not often paired with a suit. I’ve seen colored shirts on grooms and groomsmen if they are wearing vests or going without anything else on top.

My dress was “moondust” and my husband wore a white shirt with a blue suit. I don’t think it clashed at all. Here’s a photo for reference:
