Need your help again hive! Trying to decide what color to put the guys in for the wedding. The girls are in short, coral dresses. What would go better for the guys? Black or tan tuxes?
Our wedding colors are coral, ivory, and champagne…and here’s a picture of the bridesmaid dress!

I was in a wedding two years ago in August in which the groomsmen wore tan suits they rented from MW and it was brutally hot and they sweated through the jackets and the pants (gross, I know, sorry!). I voted for black because it won’t show sweat as much. But I think it also depends on the formality of your wedding. If it’s a informal wedding, the tan would probably be better.

what about grey suits/tuxes?

I wasn’t completely sold on the gray since our wedding colors are “warmer” tones… like the coral and the champagne. though I’ve seen those colors together and they look great!

I prefer the tan but voted the black because of what @Beckster329: said.

I guess tan would go better with your color scheme. However, I strongly dislike the casualness of tan suits. Nobody would ever wear a tan suit in real life, either. They’re just so costume-y looking. You can never go wrong with black!

Black suits, not tuxes, since it seems like your wedding isn’t super formal (since you’re considering tan suits at all).

@rebwana: I was going to suggest grey as well. I think sinceit is a neutral it would blend in really nicely.

Black. It will really help that coral color POP!

Just fyi – Tuxedos only come in Black and White, they are distinguished by the satin piping on the lapel and pockets, and a satin stripe down the sides of the pant leg. Any other color is a suit, and you can tell most easily because of the lack of satin on the pockets and lapels.
It’s true that evey man should have a tuxedo in his wardrobe, but buying suits for your groomsmen is also a practical move because they can use the suit again afterwards for a greater variety of formal and less-formal occasions.

If you want to go a dark colour – I’d go Navy with the coral!

@Ezsuits: That’s not true. I’ve seen brown and gray tuxedos with the satin piping.
However, I am a classic girl. I don’t think a TUXEDO should be in anything but black.

I’m biased, but here are our groomsmen in their darker grey tuxes, I think that might work.
