I wore a white dress because that looks best with my skin tone. I’m definitely out of the ordinary – when I went back to the salon to order my dress, the consultant couldn’t believe that I wanted white instead of ivory and actually made me re-try on my dress in both colors. But I’m so glad I ordered my dress in white – ivory washes me out!

I’m wearing an ivory dress, I chose it because the color looked best with my skin tone. White just washes me out and champagne looks almost yellow on me.

Mine is Ivory bodice with peony pink organza…except it’s ombreish.

You can kind of see it in this picture (it wasn’t steamed, it came straight from the box it was a brand new sample!)

my dress was considered off-white.  it was more white than ivory.

Mine was ivory, which I’ve heard is a no-no for redheads, but I loved it. I’m super pale and I felt it looked the best on me.

Mine is light ivory. I really wanted white but the sales lady kept telling me it’d look bad on me even though bright white always looks great on my skin. She didn’t have a white dress for me to try on and I just gave up.

@parasol:  The exact same thing happened to me when I tried my dress on.  The sales people asked if I was sure I wanted it white as ‘no one wears white anymore’.  Ivory made me look washed out and to be honest (against my skin tone) it looked almost nicotine stained.

I’m currently on hunt for a black dress that isn’t costume-y/goth. Here’s hoping!

Mine ended up being diamond white because it’s what my mom wanted. I actually liked the ivory better, I thought it was softer.

I didn’t think about it in that much detail… I always wanted a pure white dress so I didn’t even consider ivory. 🙂

Don’t have any quality pictures to show yet (hopefully will SOON!), but I think that white was a good choice even though I didn’t even consider skin tone. I am medium-pale, but with a cold/pink complexion. So I think ivory would have been too yellowy.

mine is ivory over light gold which in reality looks cream coloured. The pic is a cell phone when I visited the seamstress so not brilliant in the showing the colour. The ivory may have looked a tad better with my skintone but I liked the cream

Green and ivory!  It completely matched our surroundings and the non-traditional romantic fairy tale vibe I was going for. No regrets what-so-ever!
