Fiance picked a E color, IF diamond. I have NEVER seen anything that sparkles so much. It even sparkles at night with very little light. The combination of a colorless stone and the IF clarity is like nothing I’ve ever seen.

my hubby chose an E colour, vvs1.  I had told him I had wanted an F vvs2, but he said he could see a difference in the sparkle and clarity between the two.  i like his choice!

i personally would always go for highest clarity/color over the size of the diamond. i’ve seen bigger diamonds that were so cloudy and included that it defeated the purpose!

@pamplemousse: I’ve seen those too! When we were in the Bahamas, Fiance (then bf) and I looked at some rings. One had a fairly large diamond but was SO included it looked gray and had no sparkle.

I also find that diamonds with higher color and clarity ratings often look bigger than they are because they have so much sparkle and beauty.

F/VS(not sure 1 or 2..whatever the higher quality is). it’s also an ideal cut.

lol I honestly didn’t know what mine is… I had to ask my Fiance just now… this is what he said: Color Class F, Clarity SI1, Cut – Round Brilliant, Cut/Symmetry – Excellent/Excellent.

E/IF; my Fiance wanted D/IF, but he couldn’t find the exact stone with those specs.  It’s beautiful.  He did very good.  If I were there though, I probably would have told him to go with the VVS1 (since you can’t see those inclusions anyways) and either saved the money or upsized a tad (it’s 1 ct, so I’m not complaining though).  He insisted that he wanted me to have the rarest thing he could find.  Thanks honey!

My diamond is a color G clarity SI1.

You didn’t have an option for cut. Cut has much more effect on the appearance of a diamond than color and clarity. (My diamond’s cut grading is “Ideal”.)

I couldn’t vote.  Mine is a bit different.  It’s blue!  So it’s “Fancy Vivid” and “VS2”.  OH!  And conflict-free!!!  I would have been elated with anything he bought, he’s such a sweet guy and I’m lucky to be marrying him.  But it was awesome how he asked what I’d like if we were to “hypothetically” get engaged, ha!!
