I’ve changed my mind about colors for our vow renewal several times. This will be a semi formal, afternoon wedding in June. The yacht where the ceremony and reception will be held has alot of darker tones, so I’d like to use colors that will brighten the space up. Our theme is seashells. We won’t have any attendents but the colors will be reflected in stationary, flowers, linens and other decor.
Any color suugestions for our renewal?

I would take inspiration from what you see at the beach-beach glass.

Using these soft washed out greens and blues with a hit of brighter colors keeps it from being boring.

Well when I think of seashells I think of tan (maybe because of the beach idk) but maybe use some light blues/aqua maybe some peach? I’m not sure but I am interested to see what other people think

I think of cream, peach, and light, light gray. It’s interesting to see what we all associate with seashells!

Some of the colors I’ve considered in the past are:
Yellow and navy blue
Hot pink and navy blue or various shades of pink with navy blue
Apple green with navy blue
Orange and navy blue
I also like the idea of using various shades of blues and pale greens. My only problem with this is…….what color flowers with these colors? I don’t want white flowers.

There are lots of flowers that come in green…
Amaryllis, calla lilies, cockscomb, gerber daisies, hydrangeas, mums, orchids (I like green and white striped Maudiae), ranunculus, roses, viburnum, and zinnias!
Blue is a little harder…
Phlox, iris, delphiniums, chrysanthemums, blue sea holly?

I second the light turquoisy blue and coral. Lots of flowers in those colors! You could use pink as an accent color….coral and pink look lovely together. Also a ncie yellow would work too. Not super bright, but vibrant.

I had also thought about choosing colors based on flowers that I love. I want to DIY my flowers and I’ve fallen in love with these 3 roses.

What linen colors would work if I used these flowers?

I would use the flowers for the hit of color.
Something like this only fill the vase with beach glass

Light, delicate colors–pale mint, white, light blue or turquoise, and coral will probably be your best bets. However, you could also do a bolder palette as well.

Seashells make me think peach, mauve, grey, and palest blue.

Softer shades will always be best, especially since you said the yacht will have darker tones. The shade of the 2nd rose in the picture is especially nice. Light brown colors (beige, khaki, tan, wheat) greens (apple and forest green), and blues (azure, baby blue) will also compliment your seashell theme since these colors are directly related to the colors of the sea and shore.

Of the colours you chose I think the navy and orange is closet to making me think of seashells. I love that colour combination as well.
