For those of you wearing an ivory wedding dress, what colour suit is your fiance wearing? Does he need to wear an ivory dress shirt or will it matter if it’s white?? I don’t want to go with black suit. I would love to hear what other brides are doing or have done.
Thanks!!

My Fiance will be in a black tux with a black vest and ivory tie.
But have you considered gray? since you don’t want to do black. I think grey is delicious!

My groom is wearing a black tux and black shirt, but his groomsmen are wearing black tux and ivory shirt. What are your other colors? I like the idea of grey or brown or maybe even navy blue?

My Fiance is going to be wearing a grey suit with an ivory shirt and a pink tie. I was told that it is important that if your dress is very ivory that he wears an ivory shirt or else it makes your dress look yellow. We tested this theory and found it to be true so we scoured the entire internet to find a french cuff shirt in ivory. They are hard to find, but it looks so much better than a white shirt with my ivory dress.

I have the same question! Black just doesn’t look that good on him, for whatever reason. I think we’re going with a deep chocolate, but that could change. Apparently it’s not a very popular suit color…

My Fiance and groomsmen will be wearing gray tuxes. My dress is a very pale ivory – I’d almost call it more of an off-white, so I chose to go with white shirts for the guys, because I think it looks better with the gray and the ivory shirts they had at Mens Warehouse looked very yellow. Ivory dresses often show up white in pictures anyway.

My Fiance will be wearing a navy suit (our colors are chocolate brown and kiwi green). He’ll also be wearing a white dress shirt. I don’t like ivory shirts so much. To me they just look dingy.

Fiance and his boys are all wearing deep chocolate and it looks absolutely yummy next to an ivory (champagne) colored gown.

We JUST did this last weekend. The tux guy was pretty insistent that because my dress is ivory, the guys had to wear ivory shirts. I had no idea, but he seemed to know what he was talking about. 🙂 So we went with a black tux, ivory shirts, and ivory vest for my Fiance, and purple vests for the guys. (BM’s are in purple).
At one point, we were talking about going with a grey tux, and looked at the grey tux with ivory shirts. I thought it might look bad, but I didn’t even notice. So my advice would be to match the shirts to your dress, and get whatever color tux/suit you want!

Thanks Ladies!!! Great ideas…I’m liking the gray suits (dark gray) with white shirts. Good point that the off-white/ivory dress will appear white in pictures.

How about a khaki colored suit? I always love the look of them in weddings…
