I wanted a fall wedding for outdoor pictures so we chose Sept 29, 2012 (we wanted the 15th but the venue was booked that day 🙁 ). However, I don’t really want “typical” fall colours for the wedding. We are going to have black and white damask with teal and eggplant accents. Anyone have any thoughts on those colours?
What colours are other September brides picking? Anyone else not using typical fall colours? Or are my colours fall-ish? I am thinking fall colours are like oranges, burgandy’s etc. is this what you guys would call fall colours as well?

That sounds really pretty! I see teal and eggplant (especially as accents to black and white damask) as sort of jewel-toned, and somehow that makes sense to me for fall. But then, I’m a little indifferent about the whole colors thing, so I’m probably going to do a sort of semi-fall thing. Actually, since the end of September is still very early fall in the southern U.S., I’m thinking about kind of red/orange/white– but that’ll just be for the flowers.
Nothing wrong with going outside the box a little bit! It’s not like every event in the winter has to have Christmas colors, same with fall.

@TankGirl: YAY date twin!
Our colors for the ceremony are white, ivory, and gold with lots of feathers. For the reception is where the fall “theme” comes in, we’re doing dark purple, gold, and ivory and fall colored flowers. Since the 22nd will be the first day of fall, I wanted that summery look for the ceremony, then transition into fall.
Your colors sound beautiful! It says fall, but not the traditional colors.

I’m a September ’11 bride… We’re having eggplant, teal/jade, and bright green 🙂

i’m planning on a deep blue somewhere between teal and royal (maybe like a peacock blue?), with french blue and ivory, and some traditional fall color accents in floral and feather arrangements.

We did a deep, bright pink and sky blue. It was gorgeous!

we are using the colors from my engagement ring as our template for colors – silver, black and amethyst (deep purple).
By The Way: Our date is 9.22.2012 as well and I had no idea it was the 1st day of fall till I read this post!

We are doing black and white damask with hot pink accents. Pink is my favorite color so I knew no matter what my wedding date was it would include pink!

We’re planning a wedding for September 29th, 2012, too and it is generally when our area gets a bit of “Indian Summer” type of weather. We are doing tan, navy, and yellow.

I am a fall bride also!! I wanted colors that fit the season, but didn’t want to go with the traditional orange, red, and yellow. I decided on a plum, and then black white and silver accents. I think plum and teal sounds beautiful!! 🙂

I’m also 9/29/2012!! We don’t have it narrowed down yet, but I’m definitely not doing literal fall colors. I love dark eggplant/plum and a sangria-ish color, so I’m going to go off of that. I also really like flowers with a lot of white and green in them- but I don’t want it to look too springy/summery- so I’m hoping the florist will be able to point me in the right direction there 🙂
