I’m thinking of getting my applique garters from Etsy…they’re gorgeous and so different from the normal ones.

I know a lot of girls that buy jewelry off Etsy. I bought this a few weeks ago for my wedding 🙂 🙂

I would stick with products that are known commodities.  For example, I wouldn’t buy a crocheted baby blanket off of Etsy because I need to be able to touch the yarn; but I would (and have) buy a blanket made of a plush material.  I wouldn’t buy a form-fitting wearable off Etsy because I want to try it on, but I would buy an evening bag/clutch.

Also, have a mix of items that are already made and items that can be customized.  That way you can target people who know what they want and people who just want to buy something.

Pricing will also be key with hand-made goods; since you’re able to make them, anyone with the skills/time can also make them.  You have to price your items so that you are getting compensated for your time/work/materials, but not so high that someone will think “I could make it for much less”.
