We’re going to play metal music at our reception.  99.9% of our family won’t like it, but we want music that represents us.  We don’t plan on playing it all night, but a few songs here and there.

I wanted my cats as ringbearers, but Darling Husband vetoed it!!

@MrsTVLover:  Wanted the same thing. Slip the rings on their collars and sprinkle some cat nip so that they find their way down the aisle.

@Dashlied:  Lol. As much as I’d love to have her be our ring bearer, she likes to roll in catnip. It’d be totally cute but it won’t happen.

I made a “This is your last chance to run” ceremony sign that will be carried down the aisle by my one nephew, to give everyone a good laugh, and lighten “our” nerves some, followed by my ring bearer and the rest of the bridal party. Our venue offered a free ice sculpture displayed in the cocktail room, our choices for the free one were from four designs, we decided to pay an extra $200 dollar fee for a custom one. My finace home brew beer, and we asked them if they could do the famous “Love” statue from Philadelphia, but have it say “BEER”, but in the “love statue format”. Also for a good laugh and something to reflect my fiance at the wedding.

– Our two Siberian Huskies were our Honorary Ring Bearers

– Our guest book was a hockey jersey with our last name on the back which everyone signed

– We had *gasp* non-floral centerpieces

– We wrote our entire ceremony script from scratch and didn’t include any extras; just intro, rings, vows, kiss, Mr&Mrs.

– We had 5 individual cakes, each a different flavor (they were super yummy!)

– We didn’t have any dancing!

@Mrs.babycat:  I wanted to do that as well.

Quite the amount of nightmares people have had. Sheesh!

My Fiance wanted to be waiting at the gazebo while the guests were being seated, but out of sight. Then, when it was time for him to walk down the aisle to stand in place, he wanted everyone to look back expectantly, while he would then jump out for everyone to see, with fog and everything, to “The Final Countdown,” standing in a hero-like-pose.

That didn’t happen for a lot of reasons, but I was on board!
