We have decided to marry in a Scottish castle! 🙂 which will be a destination for us and our guests… So we are thinking that we really could hold the wedding on any day of the week.. and being Scottish I have an affinity to marrying on either a Monday (for wealth) or Wednesday (the best day of all) as the rhyme goes!!
Has anyone else married on other days of the week other than a saturday and have you met any opposition to it or problems?

I am getting married on a Wednesday, and because of this, there will be a few people that can’t go. Most people can get weekends off to come out to Utah from Colorado than they can get weekdays off. If it is a destination wedding, I would still try to do a weekend just to make it easier for them.

When we went to my friend’s destination wedding it was on a Thursday. It was no big deal since everyone needed to take time off work to attend and this allowed us all an extended weekend to explore the city.
I’m assuming that going to Scottland isn’t a weekend getaway type distance either.

We got married on a Wednesday and it worked out fine. Only our parents came from out of town, and since we did it in the evening, local folks were just able to come after work.

We are doing a Monday beach destination wedding. We decided to stick with a day attached to the weekend, so people might not have to take as much time off of work. But that might be hard with a long trip to Scotland (I’m assuming your Scottish castle is here!). I think that if people are going to commit to coming, it won’t matter if it’s a Monday or Weds. They will come regardless!

We’ll be getting married on a Friday in the Bahamas. I think any day would work in Scotland – prob not a weekend destination for most of the guests.
