Hi hive! I am recently engaged and we are planning a destination wedding in Gatlinburg, TN. There are so many options! I thought it would be easier planning a destination! I really wanted to rent a huge cabin and have the ceremony and reception at the cabin, but I have been unable to find one in our price range. We are paying for everything ourselves and I have set our budget at $5,000.
This is going to be rough!

destinations can be cheaper and easier if u let them be. but if u still plan to have 100+ guests and do the grandest of receptions and choose every detail, it is going to cost u alot of dollars as well as ur sanity. by letting planners use ‘packages’ it takes alot or all of the stress off of u, and by cutting the guest list down u can save tons without skimping on the details. but it will be up to u as to how much u r involved with the planning process and how picky u r with ur ceremony and reception.

@cabinbride523: could you find a hotel that suited you just as well with a package deal?

I think I may have found a not-so-bad option. I can have this room for FREE (well, a $125 cleanign fee). They only include the tables, chairs and white tableclothes, but it’s still FREE
Outside of venue:
Set up as reception:
I think I would turn this into a cocktail area:
Kind of like this but not the big tables:

I think it looks gorgeous! But, I like charming, country chic vs sophisticated elegance.

Oh I am definately a “rustic” bride. I am not going for formal at all. I am also not a fan of the white chair covers and white tableclothes. I have no clue what colors I would want though.
My favorite color combination is yellow/grey but then that doesn’t go with my rustic vision.
What would you do as far as colors/decor?

Gorgeous!!! It’s a lot to bring in food, dishes, utensils, etc when they aren’t already provided… so get solid quotes on those before you commit to anything.
