What did it feel like when you knew that the day was likely the proposal day?

Lol yeah I totally knew it was happening all day even though I had nothing to do with selecting the ring and had no clue when he purchased it, or that he had purchased it. I just had a feeling because he was acting weird.

When he proposed, I felt like I was floating outside of my body and watching it happen. It was a very detached feeling, but that’s how I always get in critical Life Moments (including our wedding ceremony). I feel numb while the thing is happening. I was very happy of course but it took a day or two until that true cloud 9 feeling sunk in.

I had pretty strong suspicions/was hoping that the day I suspected would be the day when Darling Husband proposed. And honestly I was on cloud nine the entire day, like rose coloured glasses, one of the happiest days of my life even before he popped the question. And when he did I was still surprised and started crying my eyes out, as I had no idea when he was actually going to do it that day. So for me it was absolutely still magical!

I had two proposals, one being a complete surprise without a ring

. We were a really new couple only 1 month into our official relationship he proposed. I wasn’t expecting this at all but I accepted.

However the second time around, I had already showed him the style of ring I liked and I knew the ring was made waiting at the jeweller. So, my fiance wanted to go for a hike at the canyon where we previously had one of our first dates. He seemed a little too joyful about it. He even had a backpack, and he always forgets his backpack and I end up putting everything in my the majority of the time in such events.

I went, omg it’s happening because not only did he have a backpack but also he wouldn’t let me get water bottle out of it. He was holding onto it like a dear child. Haha.

Anyway, the whole walk in the canyon felt pretty amazing! I knew it’d happen at the end because that spot was the first place he understood he liked me, a lot. Even though I guessed, the whole thing was still a surprise you know, full of emotions.

I just don’t remember how I walked back home after the proposal, because we had a good 3 km walk after the canyon. Probably I flew!

achicago :  I was pretty sure it was going to be last Friday and it was! I was still so caught off guard and not necessarily “surprised”, but shocked! Didn’t ruin it at all 🙂 he never let on beforehand!

Umm, I was a little awkward about it, to be honest, but it was cold outside and at my grad school (and I was annoyed at my grad school for reasons). His original proposal plan fell through (long story, but he smashed his phone on the way), and it just kind of happened since we were passing by. Once we got to the restaurant to celebrate, we were all smiles though.
