I got us each 10 dance classes at a dance studio that teaches swing dance and a variety of other styles. We both love dancing so I am excited for it. He has not given me anything yet but I know he has a ring hidden in his backpack so I think that might be my gift. I think he might propose tonight but I am trying not to get my hopes up. He said he thought our gifts to eachother was the vacation we are on right now.

We got married 10 days ago, so between wedding expenses and our wedding presents to each other (a Rolex for him and a Tiffany diamond ring for me) we decided to do a really modest Christmas. I got him a “indestructible” charger for his phone and a cologne he wanted, and he got me my favorite coffee, a name plate at work with my new name, and a yeti with my new name.

We’ve be navigating the Canadian immigration process (I’m American, Darling Husband is Canadian) and money has been tight because i can’t work until it’s complete so rather than buying each other presents we decided to use his holiday bonus to buy things we’ve been wanting. He got a Playstation 4 and Rock Band and we ordered a 1.5 ct solitaire moissanite in white gold for me. The ring is also for our anniversary as it’s two days after Christmas. I can’t wait for my sparkly space rock to get here! 🙂

PinkPearls: All I know is it came from Samuel’s I believe it’s probably lab created. Fiance does not know much about jewelry he just knows that I like saphires and morgaites etc. I am just amazed he got me something from a jewelry store! haha I was expecting like an anime t-shirt (I still would have liked that) I was very impressed though.

He got me a new GHB, in it was a super nice headlamp, a new Leatherman, a Sawyer water bottle, plus a few accessories for my AR I’ve been drooling over.

I got rose gold Kate Spade for Keds shoes, a gorgeous jewelry holder, a Starbucks cup that I’m dying over, cozy long socks, and polar bear pajama pants. We celebrate Hanukkah and Christmas so our gift allowance has to span both holidays, and for Hanukkah I basically just cleared out Sephora haha.

The story of my fiance’s gift for me is totally hilarious, so I have to share. First, he got me a necklace with a pearl pendant, which is beautiful. I’d also told him I wanted a new Kate Spade purse since the one I normally use has gotten pretty beat up over the past few years. I even sent him a link to one that was on sale. So, when I opened the box I kind of expected to see that. Instead, it was a HUGE black Kate Spade tote in this kind of plastic material that I just normally wouldn’t choose, and the size was way too big for an everyday purse. I live in NYC so I need a bag that will hold the necessities but not weigh me down as I’m commuting on foot/by subway all day. Anyway, I was tyring to act really excited about the bag regardless of the strange material and size, but then I noticed a little tag on it indicating that it was…a diaper bag! I just burst out laughing. We are getting married in June, but we’re not planning to have kids for a number of years, and I knew he would be so horrified that he’d bought me a gift that seemed to indicate he was ready for kids. I tried to explain to him that it was a baby bag, pulling out the changing pad and everything, and it was so hilarious. I don’t think he even knew such a thing as a diaper bag existed! Hahaha. He had such good intentions though beause he told me he thought it looked really practical since it has many pockets, and he thought the material looked really durable as well, so he thought it would last better than the leather purse I’ve had for three or four years. Anyway, it was so sweet of him to get me a bag like that at all, and honestly very cute that he messed it up like that, but he won’t be living this one down for a while! It’s also final sale! I’m seeing if I can get an exception on that, but otherwise I guess I’ll be super prepared when we finally have a baby in like 5 years! 🙂
Just to finish this post off, I got my fiance nice socks with fun patterns, a big duffel bag for travel, and some beard oil? Sounds weird but his brother recommended it and apparently it’s great!
