Mine wants a boat.  He sent me the link to it, only $90k.  HA!

Maybe a remote control boat.. if he’s lucky 😉

We agreed not to do wedding gifts but then he surprised me with a Chanel bag and I didn’t get him anything 😐. I decided I will have to come up with something real good for our first anniversary.

kelsee13 :  I know it’s a thing for many, but we decided that stress wasn’t something we needed.  It’s enough trouble finding something for Xmas and birthdays that we actually want and need.  So I gave him me, he gave me him (and rings if you want to put a fine point on it).

I know a lot of gifts tend to be watches and things like that, but if he didn’t wear one before, there’s no reason to expect he would now.  Treat it like any other special day and get him something he desires, even if it’s as silly as a bag of Reese cups.  Maybe personalize it to something that’s special for you – I could have bought a lotto ticket, for instance, because we used to buy those together when we traveled.  Actually he did buy one for our engagement ‘anniversary’ last year – we won three bucks!

Great thread.  Watches are said to be “bad luck” in our culture so there’s that idea. I have been thinking of what to give him and will be following this thread.

We met because when we were in college, we lived on the same street. His house was directly across the street from mine. So that street has a really sweet place in our hearts. I gave him a street sign I had made that said the street name on it and I wrote a note to him the morning on the wedding on the back of the sign. He loved it! He cried when he opened it, which made me happy (and a little sad because I didn’t get to see him open it, but one of my bridesmaids did and told me about it, plus our photographer got some great pictures!)

We decided to get eachother a nice wedding day gift and skip Christmas gifts this year (our wedding is next week). I got him a watch. He has a few sporty watches but nothing he can wear to work really. He used to have a really nice watch his parents got him but he lost it on a stag do. The watch I got for him is a similar one to the one he lost (and loved).

kelsee13 :  Cartier Santos cufflinks, they match the winder on his Cartier watch.

I’m torn on this too – we talked about it and agreed it probably wasn’t worth the hassle. I was going to get him a nice watch but he’s sort of stopped wearing watches lately, so I dont’ want to get him somethin that will just collect dust.

I may do the cute (and cheap) thing of sending him a pair of socks with a note saying “in case you get cold feet” on the day. We’re getting married in December so its kind of fitting with the climate we live in too!

We decided that instead of giving one another gifts, we would splurge on the honeymoon – first class travel, five star accommodations and meals. It was expensive but worth it!

I’m getting my Fiance a new handgun that will have “Mr. & Mrs. Hislastname” and our wedding date engraved on it. He collects guns, so I couldn’t think of anything more fitting to get him than a personalized one.
