Fiance and I are into ballroom dancing, so we’ll be choreographing a waltz.  Our current choice of song is Norah Jones – Come Away With Me.

We’re doing two “first dances.” The first is a sunset dance at the end of our ceremony (on the beach). We’ll be dancing to “In the Colors” by Ben Harper:

For our real first dance at the reception, we’re going to start with something really sappy (not sure what yet – maybe “Truly Madly Deeply” by Savage Garden), but a few seconds in, the DJ will abruptly end it with screech and go into “Pride and Joy” by Stevie Ray Vaughn – something upbeat to get the party started :):

I love how you love me… redone by Neutral Milk Hotel… so obsessed with it… its half traditional half super different… just like us and our wedding… plus the lyrics are so sweet

We didn’t dance at our wedding, other then the horah. We joke that Hava Nagila is our song.

This is a lesson to all Bee’s – don’t let the FH choose the song without supervision.  He chose Journey – Faithfully, need I say more.

Rufus Wainwright – “My phone’s on vibrate for you.” It’s beautiful, cute, and SHORT.

@tksjewelry: lol. i’m terrified. i picked “Some Surprise.” i’ve always seen as ‘our song.’ he said it was too girly! so i told him he had to pick. so far, no word!

Here’s a list of songs I’ve been gathering in case he needs help:

  • First Day Of My Life – Bright Eyes
  • Rose of My Heart – Johnny Cash
  • Here, There And Everywhere – The Beatles
  • Someone Like You – Van Morrison
  • Can’t Take My Eyes off You – Frankie Valli
  • That’s How Strong My Love Is – Otis Redding
  • This Will Be Our Year – The Zombies
  • Something – The Beatles
  • In My Life – The Beatles
  • Through The Years – Kenny Rogers

My Fiance keeps saying it should be ‘use me’ by Bill Withers.  I want to kill him.

We are more seriously thinking about Barry White ‘my first, my last, my everything’… it’s kinda upbeat and probably hard to dance to, but we are just not very sappy love song people.

If we were, I’d totally try to get him to let it be any of these:

Lucky in love by Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillet, I’m Yours by Jason Mraz, The Way I Am by Ingrid Michaelson, or Can’t Help Falling in Love (UB-40 version!)

Our song is “you and me” by Lighthouse, it was the song playing when we went rollerskating, our unofficial first dates. I am waiting to see what band Fiance picks because I’d really like it if they could play that song. I think it would be a really perfect song.

LOL now I have “It’s you and me and all of the people…..” running through my head. LOVE LOVE LOVE this song.
