We went to our hotel room, ate cupcakes, had sex, went to bed! We are both more introverted and were 100% ready to just have some alone time by the time our reception ended.

Went to a hotel suite with pizza and fell asleep. Had a lovely morning and late breakfast by the pool though.

Most of us went to club inside of the hotel for an after party. I wore my reception dress to the club. We were all staying there so there was no traveling involved. Got back to our room around 3am.

Our reception ends early for the UK so last orders will be midnight and everyone needs to go by 12:30.  We will be staying on a cottage on site and some of our friends/family may be staying in the other cottages but it is expensive so I won’t be annoyed if they don’t.  Either my and Fiance will hang out together in the cottage or we will have a few friends over for a small after party.

my husband’s friend group has a tradition to hang out after because everyone is coming from so far away.   the groom usually hangs with them for an hour.  we had a room in our hotel..  my husband went with his friends. i went back to our room to change out of my dress.  my mom and bm’s joined me and hung out until my husband got back to the room.  AF was visiting (heaviest day too) and we lived together too so it wasn’t a big deal.  a lifetime ahead for “wedding night” things.

We stayed in the hotel our reception was held at. Had sex, ate cake and drank champagne. Our loving family put confetti everywhere.

We had a Destination Wedding and planned to hit the clubs after our reception but honestly everyone was really tired. Once we got back to the hotel we went back to our room, pulled the three thousand bobby pins from my hair and jumped in the shower to wash off the make up and hair products and then had shower sex and then joined some of our friends at one of the hotel pools and had a relaxing swim and drinks for about two hours before hitting the sack. My parents hosted brunch the next day for whoever wanted to join so we were obligated to get out of bed!

Our day was long (11am to 11pm) so by the time we got back to our B&B we just wanted to crash. (…Amazed people actually have sex on their wedding night?!!) The next morning, we woke up, consumated the marriage and had a long bath together (our bathtub had a wonderful view of the mountains.) After breakfast, we all went on a long hike and had a picnic with some of our leftovers, including the cake.

Our situation was different because we had a very small semi-destination wedding somewhere quite rural, but all the weddings I’ve been to have ended very late and I presume they all just went off to sleep!

missmonroe711 :  our reception finished at midnight. We spent the night at a hotel.

My husband was very sweet and thoughtful and I still smile when I think of our wedding night. He secretly pocketed four slices of our wedding cake into the breast pocket of his suit because he  knows how much I love dark  fruitcake!! (we had traditional fruitcake for our wedding cake which I love and we cut it up and put it in cake bags for guests to take home)

When we got to our hotel he cheekily told me to put my hands in his pocket. I went for his pants pocket because well I thought he was being naughty!! 🤣😆😂 Lol… He corrected me and told me to look in his breast pocket. I found the cake so we sat down for half an hour, had a cup of tea and cake and talked about the day whilst enjoying the city view from our hotel room.

It was actually a really nice moment and we now have a tradition of having a piece of fruitcake and a cup of tea before we go to bed on our anniversary. It’s really corny but it’s a nice memory and tradition.

First wedding I didn’t get to eat at the reception so we went to dinner after in my gown and his tux. A couple was celebrating their 35th anniversary and paid for our dinner. The restaurant gave us a free giant slice of cake.  Then we went to a hotel, had sex and crashed. We ate the cake in the morning. #19

This time around we will probably just go to our hotel and crash #30s

We went home.

Our bridal party (but one person) was staying at our house. We all wanted to be together. We put away all the left over food, then sat around talking and eating some more. It was perfect way to end the night.

missmonroe711 :  Not married yet but my wedding is planned for June 14th(a Friday). Ceremony starts 6pm, dinner after. I think everything will be done by 9pm. I plan to leave in my dress then me and husband will drive 2 hours to a cozy cabin. You’ll probably be exhausted and want it to be over by the time it ends at night. I doubt you’ll feel like doing anything. Most people I know either go home or to a hotel.
