Hello bees! I’m ISO dessert inspiration here. My Fiance doesn’t really like cake or cupcakes, he’s definitely more of a cookie or brownie kind of guy, so I was thinking of doing a dessert bar instead of a cake. We’re also only have 45 people at our reception. So show me your desserts! Cakes, cupcakes, donuts, dessert bars, everything! 🙂

Not sure why my photographer didn’t get a FULL pic of our dessert bar *eyeroll* but we did have wedding cake, a chocolate groom’s cake, and a variety of desserts, most of which my mom & I made the day before the wedding. Not sure if you want to DIY it or get a bakery to do it but we made chocolate dipped peanut butter cookies, dipped oreo truffles, cake balls, chocolate chip cookies..I feel like there was a lot more but I can’t seem to remember. We also had some blue & white M&ms, and we ordered iced cookies that matched our cake. We also had some almond filled cookies & we bought a huge pack of these little cheesecake bites from Sams and those were great too!

We did mini pies. Half were struesel topped (apple) and half were mini hand pies (fruit – i think peach/raspberry or something).
I think a brownie and cookie bar sounds amazing!

My photogs didn’t get a pic of the dessert that came with dinner but it was Mangia cake scurro…Sicilian ice cream cake with fresh berries. Here’s a guest photo..
In addidtion to wedding cake, we had a late night dessert and specialty coffee station with more cakes, pies, pastries and fresh fruit…

I don’t have pictures since I’m not married yet, but we’re doing 2 different fruit cobblers with ice cream. Our wedding is in a park in the middle of the day during summer and it has a picnic feel to it. So we figured cobbler with icecream would be a perfect dessert.

Not married yet, so no pictures, but we’re doing a cookie/cookie sandwich station. We’ll have an assortment of cookie flavors (everything from the traditional chocolate chip to more nontraditional flavors) along with ice cream for sandwiching! We may also do fruit as well, but are working out some kinks there.

Following because I’m also planning this. FH and I are deadset on cheesecake for ourselves and the cake we cut. Not sure if we’ll be able to afford cheesecake for everyone, so considering doing something else for guests.

queenbatgirl : This is not our first marriage – so not going all traditional is easy for me. We opted not to have a wedding cake at all, instead we are having our caterer serve a double desert after dinner – an Italian canoli aside a piece of lemon berry cheese cake.

We are doing ice cream sandwiches and ice cream cones.

I’m straight up drooling over these pictures. I’m a huge dessert person, bring on the sweets for me! We both have gluten and dairy intolerances, so we’ll be looking for gluten free, dairy free desserts-luckily there’s a few Girlfriend bakeries in Seattle to choose from. But it definitely makes things a bit more complicated.
Plus FH can’t have strawberries or apples. I’d love to have apple pie, since our wedding is in September, but that wouldn’t be fair to him.

queenbatgirl : Haven’t had my wedding yet but for our reception in the US, we are serving the wedding cake as the only dessert and nothing else (this is common in my area). For our reception in Europe, we will probably serve some kind of pudding in a glass right after dinner (they usually expect pudding there). Then much later into the night, we will cut and serve our wedding cake.
