Hey Boston bees, how did you get (or are planning to get) around on your wedding day?
Fiance and I each will have 5 bridesmaids grooms men, but our church is only an 8 minute drive from our ceremony site and our reception site only a 15 min drive from there. It seems silly to spend $$$ on a limo with a 3-4 hour minimum when we don’t have very far to go. I’d rather spend that money on more important (to me) aspects of the wedding. I keep joking with people that we’ll all take the T!

Not from Boston but I hwikis situation where ceremony we’d reception we’re at the same place. I couldn’t stomachpaying a limo for three hours just to do drop off and pickup either. I just drove in my dads car with him and my sister and my mom rode wih the bridesmaids. Dh drI’ve in his car with his parents and best man so we’d have his (second love of his life) truck as our getaway car and one of the groomsmen drove the rest.

I’m from Boston! I have about a 25 minute drive between locations though, so we rented a limo for the guys AND a stretch Hummer for me and the girls. It wasn’t cheap, and part of me wishes there was another way, but there really isn’t :/ Where are you getting married?

Chartered a big ol yellow school bus from Trombly. They quoted me 375 for the day (3 trips between hotel and venue before, and 3 trips after).

I’m not from there but here is what we did.
My mom and step dad drove me to the church in their truck, it was actually really special to have those few minutes with them before everything happened. The girls shared a car there and the guys took a couple vehicles.
Then from the ceremony to where we took pictures my new husband took us in our truck and the girls and guys went together. It was about 10-15 minutes of alone time that was awesome. Then we had a 20min ferry ride plus 10 min drive to the reception. On the ferry we just sat in the truck and swapped getting ready stories while sharing an energy drink. It was so nice to have a bit of alone time. Everyone just left their vehicles at the reception site and all took cabs at the end of the night to the hotel, about 5 minutes away.
I think because it was a bunch of short trips this worked out great and we were able to save a bunch of $$. We really wanted to do a limo or mini bus but it just would of been too much $$.

Thanks, ladies. Unfortunately, living in a scarce/expensive parking city like Boston, we don’t have a car, and 90% of our guest list will be out of staters who won’t have cars with them either.
May have to look into buses/trolleys as well as limos to compare.

My dad id driving just me and him to the ceremony in his F-150 truck. Its brand new. And after the ceremony, he is riding back with his wife, and I am taking the truck with my new husband! We felt the same way about the limo being a waste of money for our situation. What about getting a sedan instead? they do airport transfers and such… well, limos do too. You should be able to find someone to just do transport back and forth without the hours long minumum…

our hotel provides free shuttle service so even though it only fits 11 guests at a time, and we will likely have 50-80 guests- we’re just going to use that… heck- why not!
