I was really sick, so we just stayed home and watched movies.  🙂 And ate year old cake!

We went out out to eat and then saw the movie Bruno! When we got home we cut the top layer of our year old wedding cake and shared a slice! Usually for our anniversary we go away for a few days even if it’s just a couple of hours away but money was tight that year!

We are going to the restaurant where we had our wedding dinner. I just can’t wait – it is soooo romantic!

We ate (a bite of) our cake and stayed in a hotel on the San Antonio Riverwalk. We live in Austin so it was almost a staycation but got to get away (and eat lots of good food!).

I believe we went out to dinner.. that was it. We are pretty low key and DH is terrible with coming up with gifts so we just do dinner for most things. Our yearly vacation was booked 1.5 weeks after, so I would more or less just count that as what we do. We’ve got the same trip booked this year. We’d book it during our anniversary, but the cost is higher and we haven’t been able to find a good place we like.

The yearly trip, it’s just to the beach, but the beach in September is so nice since the majority of the kids are back in school. It’s not as busy and we get to let the dogs off leash to run and play.

we stayed in a hotel in san francisco for the night and went to dinner. we were going to stay in the hotel where we had our reception but we wanted to be on a high floor with a view and the only rooms they have like that are suites (not in our budget this year). we stayed at the westin st. francis instead and had an awesome view of union square at christmas time.

We were planning on taking our honey moon my mom gave us to La Blanc resort for our 1 year anniversary but unfortunately the hubby doesnt have enough time off until December (when he hits his 2 year mark as they only give 5 days off for the 1st 2 yrs) so we will wait til our 2 yr anniversary to go on our honeymoon trip. So we decided we might try and go to Nemacolin which is a very nice resort here in Pa (http://www.nemacolin.com/) and spend a long weekend there for memorial weekend (since that is the we got married).

My original idea was to go back to Santa Barbara for the weekend (where we got married, and its about 2.5 hours away).  But not too long ago, I totally lucked out and won a 4-day vacation to any Sandals resort (from a local radio station), so now I’m thinking maybe we’ll spend our first anniversary in Jamaica!!!

We’re going to San Francisco for 3 days.  We wanted to drive up the coast but the school districts we work for have different spring breaks this year and neither of us could really take off more than a day so it had to be a weekend trip and I didn’t want to spend 12-14 hours driving in a weekend. So now we’re flying up so we have more time to relax.

We went to Vegas for the weekend. Got drunk together, danced, ate delicious food and watched Celine Dion at Caesars Palace. It was PERFECT.

@MrsR4ever:  we’ve decided to go on a cruise too! We went on a cruise before our wedding (our pre-wedding-moon) and knew we wanted to do another one because it was so amazing. I just booked our anniversacruise last week. We leave a little over a month after our first wedding anniversary but we’ll be in a beautiful Italian village for our ‘we’ve been together 5 years’ anniversary. Do the cruise!!!! I can’t wait for ours !

We just got married in August, but we’re already kinda planning.  We’re looking at going to Niagra Falls or Chicago for a couple days.

We’re using our Anniversary as an excuse to travel.

Luckily we live in England, so this is pretty easy, but we’re spending each anniversary in a different European Capital each year. First will probbaly be Paris, or Berlin, or Prague, and then we’ll go further adrift (Turkey, Romania etc).

We figure that if we make it a ‘thing’ each year, then we’ll definitely go instead of saying ‘oh i’ve always wanted to go there!’ and then doing nothing about it!
