I’d say somewhere in the middle. We went wine tasting, then to dinner at a nice Mexican restaurant, followed by a hysterical comedy show (featuring some HBO and Comedy Central comics) and then concluded our evening with gay bar karaoke all while being carted around in a limo. It was seriously THE best bachelorette party I could have asked for.

@LindsayMaree:  My Maid/Matron of Honor actually planned for both! Dinner out and bar-hopping, and/or John Hughes and wedding-themed movies/mani-pedis/wine for the other. We did a bit of both…went out to a fun Cuban restaurant, went to a piano bar, but got back to her apartment early enough to watch a movie and do mani/pedis.

Most of my friends honored me by attending or hosting showers on my behalf, and most of my bridal party lived out of state. My “bachelorette” party was actually two nights before my wedding, when my locally based Maid/Matron of Honor and my one locally based bridesmaid came to my house to order pizza and talk (about marriage and sex — I waited until after I was married, and my Maid/Matron of Honor wanted to make sure she gave me an opportunity to ask any questions I had, haha!) while I packed for my honeymoon. It was VERY low key. πŸ™‚

we are doing a wine tasting bike tour  in Niagara On The Lake, staying at a bed and breakfast, it includes a picnic lunch.  Then we will probably hit the Irish pub there.   I can’t wait!  Riding a bike while drunk is amazing, haha.

Mine was a weekend trip to the Jersey Shore (Yes, THAT part of Jersey Shore)! It was so much fun! There was a good mix of crazy partying/drinking and also just relaxing on the beach/going out to dinner. It was awesome!

We did a night out in the city type of thing.  Drinks on our hotel balcony, all-you-can drink dinner, and out to the bars.  It was definitely a drunken time and lots of fun!

My Maid/Matron of Honor insisted on Vegas from the beginning, and I am so excited for it!  It will be mostly partying with some chill time at the pool.  I cannot wait!

For mine it was 1940’s themed…which was awesome!

We started out with dinner, then did a big scavenger hunt, then back to the hotel room where our stripper showed up (complete surprise to me), then went dancing at a bar all night. So much fun!

And for fun..here’s a pic of me decked out in my 40’s gear…

My friends (guys and girls) threw a House Party for me at my best friend’s house.  It had an odd Mexican theme, which meant that somewhere on the interwebs there is a hilarious video of me drunkenly attempting to smash a pinata…which was full of small plastic bottles of booze.

It was a low key night…but for the hilarity and INSANE AMOUNT OF ALCOHOL CONSUMED by all.  lol  I didn’t want something formal or expensive for other people.  My friends all chipped in for booze and food (they wouldn’t let me pay for anything).  It was a really awesome night.

Hangover the next day was NOT awesome, but hey.  It was what it was.  πŸ˜€

@Rouquine:  Haha you’d be surprised! πŸ˜‰ BUT, I LOVE all things over-the-top Jersey (although I do realize not all of New Jersey is like that) so it was such a blast for me! Leopard print, crazy makeup, spray tans…it was heaven.

I haven’t gone yet, but from what little I know – it’s a spa weekend with wine tasting/tour at a local vineyard. I can’t wait for vino and massages! πŸ™‚

We’re going to Charleston, SC for a long weekend.  So, I guess that’s a mix of the two, but it’s longer than just one night.
