barbie86:  Oh I know! We went to Italy for our honeymoon in August… hot, hot, hot! Changing clothes several times a day but what’s generally nice about Italy is it does cool down at night (in comparison to the day at least).

MiaBella03:  Sounds familiar! I don’t think I’ve ever gotten through so many clothes on such a short trip lol ๐Ÿ˜‰

We went to an indoor trampoline park and acted like kids for a few hours bouncing off the walls and diving into foam pits. Then we went home, had a slice of our wedding cake together and chilled for a few hours, and went out to dinner. I can’t even remember exactly what present I got him, but I did write a hand-written letter to him telling him how much I loved him and how much I enjoyed our first year together as a married couple. We’re coming up on our third wedding anniversary and he still has that letter, along with a letter I gave him years ago for his 21st birthday, before we started dating. Out of all the presents we’ve ever given each other, its the small, thoughtfull ones that we hold dearest to our hearts, not the material possesions.

Darling Husband had class, but a few nights afterwards we went to a steakhouse. He printed & framed me the vows he wrote for me (we wrote our own ceremony) for the paper anniversary. Really simple but nice!

Our first anniversary is today! We are having dinner at the restaurant where we had our ceremony and reception. No gifts. Where we got married is right on the water and I wanted to visit where we went for our wedding photos and go for a walk along the water. But I’m 34 weeks pregnant and we had prenatal class at the hospital this morning so need to rest this afternoon before dinner – I’m easily worn out right now!

Ours is on the 5th. We’ll both be working opposite hours of the day (him during the day and me at night), but we plan on celebrating two days later by going out for dinner and exchanging gifts and sentiments.

We had big plans to drive an hour to the large city by us and hang out there. We just motivation so we just went mini golfing and ordered pizza.

We give each other smaller gifts. I’ve been trying to base my gifts on the ‘traditional’ anniversary gifts (just to be silly). For paper I got him some tickets to see his favorite MLB team when they were in town. For cotton I got him a beach towel with his favorite college football team (we had just bought a house with a pool). Now I need the extra time to figure out leather for next year ๐Ÿ˜‰

Our anniversary is coming up on the 27th

I’m going to st lucia next saturday woo hoo!! Hubby surprised me with the trip. He gave me the gift early so I have time to pack and if I need to buy stuff. (St Lucia was our top choice for our honeymoon but ended going somewhere else since it was during hurricane season and we always wanted to go there).

I ended up giving his gift that day too- a frame photo of us with our wedding song lyrics.

We didn’t do a gift – instead we went to Playa Mujeres, splurged on amazing accomodations and tours. Relaxed on the beach. It was enough for us. Second year anniversary we’ll be in London. We love to travel so thought it was better than gifts.

We’re going to Natchez,MS to tour old homes and just enjoy walking through the Natchez Trails. We’re staying in a Victorian-era bed and breakfast. It’s very low key and only a couple of hours from home, so it will be a weekend trip. We’re saving to go to London in May, so while we wanted to go somewhere for our anniversary, we also wanted to make sure it was budget friendly.

On our actual anniversary we went to a steakhouse (that happened to be in the hotel our prom was in years ago which was a surprise to us!) and had a nice dinner. We waited about three weeks to go our anniversary trip due to cost and availability for time off. Our anniversary trip was to Florida. We went to Universal Studios, spent a night in a gorgeous resort, and scoped out towns for our move next year. We considered the trip our gift to each other.

FromA2B2013:  That’s such a lovely thing to do! We had our reception in a private home, otherwise I would be asking Darling Husband if we could do the same!

We went away for a long weekend and had a lovely mini holiday.  We also took up our wedding album with us so we could look through it with a glass of wine on the day. For his gift, I gave him theatre tickets printed off at home so they were paper! ๐Ÿ™‚

We went to Montreal for the weekend–our anniversary is in January, so it was freezing! We didn’t do gifts, just a fancy dinner (with Veuve Cliquot!) and lots of fun activities. We’re not big gift people.
