I know that an elopement is special no matter what but I was wondering what details you incorporated into your day to make it extra special? I’m currently looking into hiring an acoustic artist to play a few songs on the beach after our ceremony so that we can have a “first dance”… I almost think I should keep that part a secret and surprise my future hubby with it! What do you think? What’d you do?!(:

I think that would be an amazing surprise!!!!
Our elopement was just the two of us but we still had a small cake to cut and champagne to toast. We also hired an amazing photographer to take pictures and I think that’s the best thing we could’ve done. It helped our family and friends feel like they were part of our day. We went on a hike and said our vows but that evening got dressed in our “wedding” clothes and my husband went to have a drink and wait for me so he wouldn’t see me until I was dressed! It was a very special and cute day and while it was not tradition, it was perfect to me. Enjoy your day!

Awe, I love it! I’m thinking about doing a little cake too! I thought about doing a videographer but they’re insanely expensive. I did find a couple that does pictures that seem to be really good quality for an affordable price. I’m also thinking about getting ready separately so that we can have a “first look”!

We had a conch shell blower who brought me “down the aisles” (also the first time my husband saw me all dressed up) and walked us to the ocean after the ceremony as it it’s tradition on Maui. We had a flower circle made out of native flowers we stood in during the ceremony. We had a musician playing 4 or 5 songs and a fist dance. We had a Hawaiian Lei exchange, a traditional jewish ceremony with reading and signing of the Ketubah plus the ring gifting and the traditional American part with a ring exchange. We had an amazing photographer who got everything on camera and the wedding coordinator also filmed the whole thing (with astonishingly good results as we are talking IPhone and free style). We had sparkly wine out of coconuts in the end as well.
All in all it was the best day ever!

It was just me and my husband at ours. We eloped on the West Coast in the most beautiful place. We spent a few days there enjoying the area and exploring. We hired an amazing photographer and ended up with amazing pictures. That was the most important thing to us since that is all our families will see and we will have them forever. We had a small cake and went to a very nice dinner. It was perfect for us.
