We made some christmas cards with ours and got one framed. Then we are planning on using them in a combined engagement/wedding album.

I hung a bunch up in one of those frames that is sort of collage-like, we used them for our Save-The-Date Cards, we gave a bunch to both sides of our families and they’ll be used as our guest book. I’m also thinking of having my favorite turned into a canvas print and hanging it in our house/apartment when we’re married :).

Fiance was really set on keeping our engagement photos under wraps until the wedding, so that when people see them on the wedding day, it’ll be new to them and it will heighten their excitement about them. I must say that it’s been hard not to show our photos all around, but I think that he’s right!

Here’s how we are using the photos:

  • One photo on the back of a moo card to include with our invites with our website, ala Mrs Thimble: http://www.weddingbee.com/2010/08/31/wedding-website-cards/
  • Our guest book from Adoramapix of our e-pics, with white space/border around some of the photos so that guests will sign it (kind of like a year book) with their well wishes and wisdom.
  • We are doing individualized escort cards for each guest, choosing a photo of that guest and us, and printing it on a moo card. Those guests we don’t have a photo of, we will give them one of our engagement photos.
  • The postage stamp – we chose one of our e-pics and used Zazzle to create a custom postage stamp for our invites.

Whew! We think that we have determined lots of uses for the photos, and I think that it makes it the most worthwhile because we didn’t display them all (facebook and other social media) before hand.

For my clients they get a guest book made with the pictures for there guest to sign at the wedding.  I have seen some of my clients blow the picture up with the seating chart attached. Some use a different picture with a table number on them to mark the tables and the best use Save The Date Cards.

So far we’ve sent Christmas cards with one favorite pose on it, and gave our parents another as framed gifts last Christmas.

So far we just used them in our engagement announcement in the paper (yes, how old school is that?!?).  I have grand plans of making a wedding scrapbook so some of them will make their way into there.  I’m sure we’ll include them in our slideshow if we have one.

You can use your enagement photos are you guest book. They can sign around the pictures and that way you’ll have a photo book and a memorandum from the guests at your wedding. If not, then you could put some in frames and have them at the gift tables or something.

I think I will put my in frames and put them on the mantle at my reception sight. They have a fireplace and they have huge canddelabras on either side. But nothing in the middle. So it would be cute to put pictures of us there!

We got special STD pictures done because we wanted a corky design.. We haven’t taken our engagement pictures yet but we will be putting them on our wedding website (before we send out the STDs) , hanging them around the house and gifting framed ones to parents.
