We had already cash flowed the wedding and honeymoon so we put it into savings. Then we moved to Amsterdam and used a bunch of it haha. So worth it!

We’re using half of it to pay off some of my husband’s high interest student loans, and the other half will sit in savings. We’ll probably use a portion of what’s left for an anniversary trip.

We had our honeymoon planned prior to our wedding but did splurge a bit based on the gifts we received. The rest went into our savings account.

We split the money and put half into savings, and then split the other half evenly into each of our separate accounts to spend as we wished.

We did a registry, but naturally people went off registry. We had a bunch of hand me down items for our home (dishes, towels, silverware, those things) and we used like MAYBE 1/4 of it for upgrading some of the household items we were too cheap to buy ourselves or didn’t get as gifts from our registry.

I think we brought a few hundred dollars with us on our honeymoon but didn’t spend much of it since we never ended up leaving the resort. We just preferred to have cash on hand versus a card.

The majority of our money went towards remodeling our bathroom and buying a new horse (lol). We were super grateful we didn’t pay for much out of pocket for our bathroom remodel at all, most wedding money covered it.

We deposited all the checks into our joint account, where it sat for a while and ultimately contributed to our down payment about a year later. Our bank doesn’t take cash deposits (I know), so we did use the cash (exchanged for local currency) on our honeymoon (which we took 3 months after the wedding).

Combination of all of the above! We just got married this past weekend and our honeymoon will be in July at an all-inclusive resort which has already been paid for, but we haven’t booked any extra excursions yet. We will use a little bit of our wedding money to book a few fun excursions, and the rest will get split between our regular bank accounts and joint savings.

We used some for the honeymoon (spending money, excursions) and the rest went into savings.

We had a few unexpected wedding expenses come up that we paid on our CC. We immediately paid those off with the gift money, the rest went towards extras on our honeymoon and spending money.

We didn’t receive a significant amount of money but did book our honeymoon once the wedding stuff was all wrapped up so I think generally it went toward our honeymoon.

A little bit of everything. I don’t expect massive amounts of money, since it’s a small wedding and people will have to travel. I imagine a good chunk of it will go towards paying for the honeymoon (flights and hotel are booked, but there’s still eating out/sight seeing/etc). If there’s anything left, we’ll probably throw it at some remaining modest credit card debt that we’ve been lazy about paying off, so that we can actually start to get serious about saving for a house.

We asked them to gift us cash, as we’re moving overseas now and anything else wouldn’t have made sense. The conversion of the money is really bad though, so we decided to ask them for money for our honeymoon, as we just ended up with almost nothing after our wedding. So it wasn’t a lot of money, but it was enough to go very low key out of town for about 5 days.
