After the wedding was over and you’re left with happy memories (hopefully!), what did you do with your decorations and wedding stuff?
I have a few things that I bought, some that I made, and while I don’t really want to trash them, I’m running out of storage space. So what did you do with yours?
Eta: I’m not good at typing on a new kindle! Haha

I donated some and stuck the rest on Craigslist!

Did you get good results from craigslist? I’ve never used it for selling before.

This is the one thing I’m worried about after the wedding. It’s already taking up so much space now… I am probably going to sell most of the things I bought, like the jars, vases and other things. I have a few friends getting married after me that could probably use some of the things I have. The rest I will probably donate.

The only thing I tried to sell was my crinoline. It didnt get any interest and nobody wanted to accept it as a donation so, sadly, I threw it away. We didnt have too much in terms of decorations and what we did have were things that could be reused (like cake stands from pier one) and family took them.

The wooden planters in the picture, Darling Husband and I made them and they turned out great. But there are 20 of them! I’ve given some to family or friends that wanted one, but I still have about 15 left.

I used a bunch for house decor. Baskets are on the mantel. Laterns line the porch. Even my bouquets are in the wine barrell in the entryway.

It’s in my closet, collecting dust. I should sell it but I’m procrastinating.

@The_Future_KB: FI and I moved in with some newlywed friends of ours. There was no room for our stuff in the kitchen because the cupboards were full of their wedding decorations. It was so annoying.

We hired our table centrepieces, and most of the decor was floral so we gave it to guests and family after the reception. We kept the card box and photoframes for table numbers – we will offer to loan them out to friends or family. The only other thing we were left with was a confetti basket!

I was thinking of having a big garage sale with the items I cant find a home for.
But a lot of our decor will probably be used at Halloween for the following years, (we are having a Addams Family themed wedding).

Currently all of mine is stored in miscellaneous boxes in my attic.
I plan to keep the sentimental stuff – champagne glasses, cake topper, etc, but I plan on giving away the decorations, like the paper lanterns, candles, glass dishes, wedding arch, tulle, etc.
A couple we are friends with are getting married in November 2014, and another couple we know are getting married in September 2015, so they are more than welcome to come and shop in my attic whenever they want. lol

I sold most of my stuff on craigslist. Everything else is sitting in a box in my basement.

It’s all in our basement unfortunately. All our stuff was very DIY and personal, so I doubt anyone would buy it if I tried to sell. There isn’t that much though, so we’ll probably just keep it until we move.
