I planned on selling it but I fell even more in love with it on the wedding day. I’m keeping it…Eventually probably clean and box it. We are going back to our wedding venue (hotel) for our first anniversary and I totally want to bring our wedding attire and dance around our suite, lol.

It’s funny I totally expected to be really sentimental about my dress and would never have dreamed of selling it but I’ve found I really don’t care and it’s just taking up space so I am considering selling it however I’m quite short so I’m not sure if I can find someone equally short to buy it lol

I plan to donate mine to have it made into dresses for baby girls who pass away and need to be laid to rest in something pretty. For most, standard baby clothes are too big. Every girl should feel like a princess.

Your plan is really nice! Consider going through a community or religious organization that will help match you with someone in need, so that you know it will go to good use. I’m going to dye mine. 🙂

My dresses were everyday white dresses rather than formal bridal gowns, so I might be able to wear them again for a non-wedding event. However, I could see them getting donated at some point down the road.

Mrs_Purple:  That’s a wonderful idea. I am going to go with Angel Gowns and donate my wedding dress to them after the wedding. I can’t even begin to imagine what it would feel like to lose a child.

A aunt in my family altered her wedding dress when the renewed their vows on their 50th wedding anniversary, she also wanted to get rid of it but deep down inside she knew she wanted to keep it.

it was amazing looking!

MissTNBookworm:  AutumnFlower:  Thank you ladies. I can’t even imagine how it would be to lose a child, and I can only hope that having something nice for the baby to wear forever will at least help in some very small way.

My Maid/Matron of Honor, who is getting married about 7 months before me, and I talk about having wedding dress parties after our weddings, where we just hang out and wear our gowns while watching TV or something. Who knows if it’ll actually happen, but we’ll see~

An option to consider is having the wedding gown remade into a christening gown. I did that with my cousin’s wedding gown when her daughter was born four years ago.  It was fun for me incorporating the details of her dress, including a beautiful jeweled broach, to make her daughter’s christening gown reflect her wedding gown.
