I wore both. When we mentioned we were on our honeymoon, I saw people glance down to admire them, so I’m glad I did 🙂 (BTW, I am totally not self absorbed & think people are jealous of my ring or anything- I just know it’s the first thing I do when people first mention marriage/honeymoon, and I know other people like checking out others’ sparkly things)

I’m curious about this too especially for anyone doing a beach style vacation. I think I have an unreasonable fear of losing mine in the ocean.

I went on almostdiamonds.com and ordered a decoy set.  They actually look a LOT like my real ones, so I’ll get the same effect of people ooohing and ahhhing but without the terror of losing thousands of dollars of diamonds in the ocean Tongue Out

My full fake wedding set was like $60. Haha I had to insist to Fi that I can totally tell they’re fake (I CAN’T ACTUALLY!) so that he didn’t get butthurt about spending so much on the real ones!!!  My center stone is a sapphire though, so that probably helped.  Might be harder to pull off a larger CZ than the little bitty ones …

I never travel abroad with my ering and I don’t anticipate traveling with my wedding set either. The last thing I want to do on a vacation/trip is to worry about my rings (which cost Fiance about $15k, to put things into perspective, not to brag). They are insured but I’m rather sentimental and don’t want to lose “the original”. I have plenty of time and opportunity to wear my rings when I’m at home, so I don’t mind not being able to wear them for a few days. You can either hide them in your house somewhere or you can put them in a safe deposit box at the bank, if you are worried. We will put mine in the safe deposit box prior to leaving.

I know it is a nice feeling to have people oooh and aaah over them, but I figured I have enough people in my day-to-day life that oooh and aaah so I can live without the attention for a few days for my peace of mind.

When we went to Hawaii, I wore my engagement ring but I took it off prior to going into the ocean “just in case”.

No matter where we go, I’ll be wearing them. They’re meant to be worn, I think, no matter where.

Not married yet but since our honeymoon is in the same place as our destination wedding my rings will be on my hand during our honeymoon. I wanted to use a “fake” set just in case some jerkbag decides to rob me but it would not be the same for me if my rings aren’t blessed at our actual ceremony. I might get one of those fancy belts or something and hide them in there when we go site seeing.

We honeymooned in Maui, so it wasn’t a big deal to wear both. However, whenever we travel abroad (Peru last summer and Indonesia this summer) I only wear my wedding band, which has subtle channel set diamonds and sapphires.

We plan on wearing ours everywhere we go except for when we go swimming we will probably put them in the hotel safe.

If you are worried about muggings, don’t be…but just in case get your rings insured before you leave.

We are going to Costa Rica and I know there’s non-insignificant crime rate there.  I think we’ll leave at least the engagement ring, not sure about the wedding rings.  I’m going to South Africa next month for work for a few weeks and I’m leaving my engagement ring here for the same reason.

We are gonna go to Costa Rica and I think we are gonna just get cheap rings from JVL(I still have a card from a bridal show for 2 free bands) and just wear those.  We are gonna be doing so many outdoorsy stuff there anyways that I wouldn’t want to wear my ring for fear of it getting messed up or my fingers swelling up(which happens when I hike) or losing ring in the ocean. My ring would spend most of the honeymoon in a safe in the room, might as well leave it at home.

And if you are going somewhere abroad where you are not sure about the crime, you are better off not wearing anything to attract attention to you.  You already are an easy target cause you are a tourist.  Wearing your jewelry is not worth your life imo.

Fiance and I just ordered our stand-ins last week. We got simple stainless bands to wear on our honeymoon and after when we’re dirtbiking, hiking, camping and doing all our normal (rough on pretty jewelry) activities. I would much rather lose a $10 band in the river/ocean than my sparkily ones.

I brought my set with me and wore my rings unless in the water (chlorine is bad for your rings!!) or doing something ‘dirty’ like fishing, or ATVing.  I left them in the hotel safe – no biggie!
