A yoghurt for breakfast, a couple of slices of cucumber for lunch (only thing I could stomach as I was getting ready) and then I had a few bites of steak and fancy veggies at the reception and about 1/4 of a slice of cake.

Now, ask me what I ate on my honeymoon in Hong Kong. I gained 2 kg in a week! Ha ha! Wooorth itttt.

mrsfox :  I totally didn’t expect to be one of those “I hardly ate” brides, but I was. I woke up crazy early and made a cup of coffee that I only had like two sips of. One of my bridesmaids made eggs and potatoes, which I think I had a forkful of. My bridesman brought Starbucks, which I barely sipped. At the reception I sat down and ate but only about half of what was served and got one bite of cake.

I did, however, INHALE several slices of pizza later that night and gorged all the next day. LOL

I’m not sure how our timeline will play out yet. The ceremony is due to start at 4 but we want to do a first look and I don’t know how long to allow for that, or getting ready time. I’m thinking we’ll have a decent breakfast (Full English ftw!) then some sort of buffet lunch that we can nibble on as we get ready.

For food, we had carrots, apples, bananas, hummus and pita chips, yogurt, and a deli tray with meat and cheese (and probably some other things that I can’t remember). We also had bottled water, coffee, OJ, and bubbles (cava and champagne) to drink.

I’m so glad we had something to drink beforehand. We had a really nice toast when I gave everyone their presents, and it was good for calming nerves!!

I was crazy and got up and exercised around 5-6 am on my wedding day (let’s be honest, I couldn’t sleep anyway). Had I think a Luna bar for breakfast. Around 1 before my makeup appointment I had a yogurt. That was about all until cocktail hour! lol

Oh I havent though of this!! Good thing I read this post!!  Our wedding is at a cottage in the middle of nowhere and the cottage is not AC so I made an appointment at a nice salon about 30 mins away.. for 9:30am for myself and all my girls so we can get ready in comfort since all the driers and curlers will be used and I really didnt want it to be done in a hot cottage. We will be done H&MU by 12 and will be getting dressed and ready to go back. Ceremony is at 1:30, then once we are done we are taking some family photos and then going about 10 mins away to take some Bridal party and us pictures… and then gotta be back on the property by 4’4:30pm.. and BBQ starts till 4:30. I’m sure the boys they are getting ready at the cottages) will be eating bit us girls idk I have to figure it out maybe we will have a late breakfast at the salon? We can pic it up before going in? Now I gotta figure this out too. UGH i hate wedding planning so much. 😧

For breakfast: One pickle and a sprite.

For lunch/Pre-ceremony: I sat in a bathroom stall eating Wendy’s french fries.

Dinner/After the reception and wedding: We went out with our close friends/bridal party to one of those all you can eat brazilian meat places.

Literally didn’t get to eat anything at our wedding aside from a bite of cake when they made us take pictures feeding each other.

My planner picked up sandwich platters and brought them to our hotel suites where my DH and I were getting ready separately.

We had a morning wedding so I’m not much help. My MUA brought us lattes from Starbucks and the boutique hotel we stayed at has delicious breakfast “tapas” all morning — small plates of high protein/filling nibbles. H filled a tray with that and brought it up, and we also each had a mimosa.

Then we stuffed our faces full of delicious brunch at the reception 🙂

We had bagels, fruit, and mimosas in the morning while getting hair and makeup done and then we ordered Jimmy John’s sandwiches for lunch. It was nice that everyone could customize their own food and it was super simple.

I’m trying to work out who I can convince to buy me a Chai latte and a pastry from the costa down the road from my Mum’s haha

I definitely want a pastry for breakfast though!

I have to be out the house by 11.30am on the Wedding Day and won’t eat until 2ish. I will NEED sugar lmao

mrsfox :  I had a big room service breakfast at about 7am: poached eggs, grilled tomatoes and mushrooms, vegetarian sausages, beans, fruit salad and toast. Then while I was getting ready I had a pastry and champagne.

Ceremony was at 1pm, then the 3 course meal was at 3.45pm. Ate most of the 3 courses.

Then in the evening I ate around 10pm (buffet bits and a lot of cake lol).

The big breakfast really set me up for the day, and I didn’t feel hungry until the meal. It was super important to me to make sure I had plenty to eat in the morning as I knew I wouldn’t eat for some time after with the nerves/adrenaline and just how busy it was. So I would really recommend doing that.

Just a turkey sandwich mid-day. Had planned to have some mimosas but no one else wanted one (it was just my mom and sister). Ate a little at the reception- one or two servings of our small plate meals.

I had a wrap and some cheese and fruit. My biggest advice for your reception is..EAT! Sit down and eat. You picked out the menu thoughtfully. Enjoy it!!
