I’m trying to make a decision on this today, so I’ll be following this post for more ideas! Everyone’s engravings so far are so sweet!

As a surprise I had our rings engraved with “Bind on equip.”

For those who won’t know – it’s a World of Warcraft thing – Fiance is a big gamer.

@Soon2BD-CBee:  We did this to ours, except mine says “i love you”, while his says “i know”. It’s fun to explain it to people.

@Quickiebee:  I <3 Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros.

I want to put something on our rings, but I might wait until our 1 year anniversary. Right now we can’t afford the rings we want (and he’s terrified he’ll lose his) so we’re going to invest in nice ones once we can afford my matching one, and once he goes a year and realizes he isn’t going to lose it.

@Birdi:  I love this and it may actually be what I put in our rings because it is from the scripture 1 Corinthians 13 4-8. 🙂

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails.

I don’t know what my Fiance is getting put on mine, but for him I put “Hold on”. Our first song is “Hold On” by micheal bublé, and I also just like the sentiment. Too me it means, hold on even when the going gets tough.

Not married (or engaged) yet, but my boyfriend of 7 years and I already discussed we would get “I am my beloved’s” on mine ” and “My beloved is mine” on his. Its an old Hebrew saying that my parents had in their wedding ceremony 🙂

Probably we will get “love under will.” This is a phrase that philosopher/occultist Aleister Crowley wrote, and it basically means that love is active, love is something you choose and something that you do. It is not passive, it is not accidental; it is purposeful. You choose to be in love. Both Fiance and I absolutely believe this, though it may not be a popular philosophy 😉

When my time comes, we’ll probably get a bible verse engraved. Like: 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

We got each other’s first names engraved as well as our wedding date in Roman numerals. So mine has his first name and IX.VIII.XII and his has my first name as well as the date in Roman numerals.

Fiance likes to hold me and sing “Ho Hey” by the Lumineers to me… I was thinking we could engrave one that says “I belong with you” and one that says “You belong with me” from the song lyrics… but if he doesn’t like that, we will still find something to engrave.

He engraved my engagement ring with I love you Boo.  We have called eachother Boo since we first started dating and it’s just a cute nickname that we’ve always called eachother.  He said that the engraving was just for the two of us, which I thought was really sweet.
