I had “Everlong” engraved in DH’s ring. It is a Foo Fighters song that has always been our song and it is what I am walking down the aisle to.

“For Years”. We always say that we have loved each other for yrs. In fact we use those words to say I love you’s sometimes. And I will love him For Years to come.

@MrsSnowMountain:  OMG I love this! I really like this concept. My Fiance and I had to overcome lots of (seemingly insurmountable) obstacles to be together. We’ve always said that we wanted each other, our relationship didn’t just happen because it was easy or we were even geographically close and we will continue to work at it.

Thanks for sharing! Love it!

@MrsSnowMountain:  I love this saying! I have the same beliefs about love (that it is a concentrated effort) but I can’t seem to find a place where Aleister says the quote and then explains it the way you have.

I am getting his ring engraved when I get it – but I am doing it secretly – and since we will have a reading that speaks similarly to this at our wedding I think this is the perfect way to word the belief in a short, succint way. (I just want to find where he talks more about it 🙂

My reading is from C.S. Lewis – it is different then most readings about love but I love how it speaks on the conscious effort required to maintain a lifelong relationship with someone. We have been together for 5 years now and this means that we are obvs out of our honeymoon stage and have moved on to a quieter – but more purposeful love.

Now that I think about it I am starting to like the wording “The Conscious Promise”
