Just had another thought: The Guy is a big literature fanatic, so I think I might try to find a 1st or rare edition of one of his favourite books.

We plan on “giving” each other our lavish honeymoon, since it’s an experience we’ll both enjoy.

As a joke, I’m making him a Tshirt that I will stencil “Under New Management”. 🙂 I’m going to get him something else too, just not sure what.

LOL – Jenbrandner – I’m with you, I had to google boudior pictures too.

I am thinking of getting him a Burberry trench, because he always eyes them at the store but I think he feels silly spending so much on a coat for himself.

Does anyone know when we would actually exchange the gifts?  Do you traditionally set up a time before the wedding to do it, or do you put them in your hotel room and exchange when you get up there after the reception?

I’m getting him bicycle cufflinks. He’s a cyclist, so I think it goes well and he can use them all the time :]

@ KatieGirl- I think you exchange them sometime before the wedding? That would be my guess :] I’ll have my Maid/Matron of Honor give it to him while we’re all getting ready. That way when we do our first look, he’ll have them on!

We originally were just going to exchange letters, but then he got me two Swarovski squirrel figures (I love squirrels) to use as our cake toppers since he knew that I just couldn’t bring myself to spend that much money on cake toppers. I ended up getting him the full collection of his favorite comic strip, Calvin and Hobbes.

This one was/is a challenge for me.  At one point I planned on getting one of the really nice, super-soft leather journals and writing and inserting pictures of favorite memories, things I love about him, etc.  But I think it’s probably something I would like to receive, rather than something that he would like to get.

I actually really like the video camera idea because he’s mentioned a few times wanting to get one (particularly while we were on vacation last summer) and though it’s something I don’t really see the need for, it’s something he would probably like a lot.  And since his birthday is 4 days before the wedding I can combine the b-day budget with hiw wedding gift budget to get a more expensive item than he normally would have received.

And his preference is for watches that cost less than $20 and have a velcro strap, and I refuse to get him one of those as his wedding gift, and he’s not a cufflinks person either.  So thanks for the video camera idea!

It took me a really long time to figure it out but I am getting him golf lessons! He loves to go to the driving range but I have a feeling he has no clue what he is doing so I know he will love to actually learn how to do it the right way.

Ohhh, JennyChicago, I really like that idea and it is one I havent heard of before!  My wedding is at the end of October though, so he probably wouldnt be able to use the lessons until the following summer, HMMM.  OR, maybe I could get him a private golf lesson for while we are on our honeymoon, now there’s an idea!
