Just curious, what did you get ready in? Did you buy a robe or a t shirt specially for it? I have not even thought about that yet? Can I just wear any old thing (buttoned down not to mess up the hair) or do you have to get something for photo ops?

jeans & a button down shirt I already owned… it was fine for my getting ready pics (i just wanted to be comfy and was in a semi-private area – so no robes!).

I just got ready in my underwear, which in hindsight was kind of embarrassing, because there were a lot of people in the room, and my SIL was taking photos. 🙂 If I could do it over again I’d get a cute little robe, probably…

@HollyCJ: Tank top and yoga-type capris. Just something comfy. That’s all that I cared about.

Some Syracuse basketball shorts, and a “Bride” tank top I got at my shower. Comfy was key.

- Wedding: October 2011 - Bed & Breakfast
I wore a pretty robe that I picked-up on clearance at JC Penny. Just make sure you wear something that doesn’t have to be pulled over your head and that is made of a smooth material (i.e. no terry cloth) so it doesn’t snag your hair.

I purchased a beautiful calf-length white robe to wear, but it was more for warmth and comfort than anything else — it was made of soft brushed fleece. I knew the room would be a little chilly in the morning, and I wanted to be snuggled up in something soft, luxurious, and a little bit bridal. It was perfect for me, and I can’t wait to wear it again in the fall/winter.
We didn’t do any kind of “getting ready” photos (I banned our photogs from the room) but I think it would’ve looked just fine if we had.
If the wedding had been during warmer months, I probably would’ve done a silk robe, definitely shorter, and likely in a pretty color or pattern.

At first i was wearing a regular top and capri pants and then I put on my crinoline and longline bra.

oooooOOoo thank you for asking this question! I have been wonder the same thing. I think I will buy robes for myself and 3 bridemaids or custom t shirts.

I bought one of those “Bride” tank tops to match the “bridesmaid” shirts I got for the girls and I wore a silk robe. I was very comfortable and it all came off easily to avoid any hair mishaps.

None of the above. I had a white sweat suit with “wifey” embroidered with crystals on the back of the jacket.

I wore a great maxi dress that was easy to take off. I wanted to look nice in the photos even if I wasn’t in my dress.

A sparkly Bride tank top and VS pajama pants. Very comfy and cute!

A loose, stretchy tank top that I could take off down over my hips, and a beautiful tiered white skirt. We went elsewhere to have hair and makeup done, so no robes or undies for me. I was honestly more comfortable in real clothes anyway.

I got a Bride robe and matching ones for my girls. I’m excited to use them and I think they will be pretty cute pics. I plan for us all to get ready in a hotel room so we don’t need real clothing to go to salons and what not.
