Not married yet, but I’m planning on doing a different gift for each. And I’m going to approach as, “What would she like for her birthday?” instead of choosing a typical bridesmaid gift. Not that the typical bridesmaid gifts are cliche or dumb, it’s just not my style. And I hate, hate, hate being the center of attention, so I don’t want them to think I’m being self-centered if I just get them jewelry to wear at the wedding, or an “emergency kit” that would probably be used first on me, and not on them.

Wedding related I paid for dresses, Jewellery,( although I let them chose their own)  and hair, make up, Accomodation (although I do not class thoses things as gifts)

As thank yous I have bought each of my girls a bottle of perfume ( their signature scent- all different)  A purse each from our fav vintage store, and Each girl a little something that relates to an inside joke, or shared memory that I have with each of them.

I have also had kimono’s/Robes made, as we all share a love of lounging around in our Pj’s/ dressing gowns it seemed appropriate and one less thing for them to bring ( all flying in from OS)

I got my girls each:

*a silver necklace and earring set from Laos (when I was there)

*beaded bracelets to represent my South African wedding

*these awesome light (salmon?) pink clutches from Aldos

*tote bags that say ‘bridesmaid’ in rhinestones on one side and using those iron-on embroidered letters for their names on the other side.

*and my FAVORITE idea – I got them each a sterling silver charm bracelet made up of 5 charms each that are personal to each of our relationships. ie. For my sister/MOH – I got her one charm that says maid of honor, one that’s a can of hairspray (bc she’s a hair stylist and doing my hair for the wedding), a snowflake (for all the times we played in the snow sledding & making snowmen when we were little), a ballerina (bc she was a dancer and I then did it too to bc I wanted to be like her) and a charm shaped like Africa (bc we went to South Africa on a 3 week road trip together & I met my fiancé there with her)

I can’t wait to give it all to them!! 😀

Over the past year I’ve knit a lace shawl for each of my girls, all different based on their tastes and have a shawl pin. I will also be taking them out for brunch and a mani/pedi before the rehersal.
