I will most likely be getting him speakers and an amp for our home theater setup. It won’t be a surprise since he needs to pick everything out but it’s what he really wants.

A watch ๐Ÿ™‚ His old one broke, and it was all scratched up anyway. There aren’t many he can wear since he’s a music teacher and waves his arms around conducting and playing the piano, and he hates to take it off (afraid some little kid will think it’s pretty and run off with it!) So it took me a good while of picking up watches and getting something that was light, but still looked good.

We’re buying eachother a new tv. I don’t really care, I’m fine with the one we have, but he’s always complaining about it. So if we’re buying a new one anyways, might as well call it Chirstmas and not have to spend anymore money on other presents.

I don’t really have a main gift, I just got him a bunch of things:

Ken Burns: Prohibition on Blu-ray, Midnight in Paris, every issue of National Geographic on CD Rom, and a Fozzie Bear stuffed animal (he is obsessed with the Muppets).

I’m getting my SO the complete set of Beverly Hills 90210. He used to watch it with his parents & sister when he was growing up & he always wants to watch it on the soap channel but I never let him. (I like watching shows from the beginning otherwise I don’t get what’s happening.)  I’ve only watched three episodes & it seems super cheesy to me but he loves that show, so, in 2012 we can relive the magic together! ha ha

I got him several things that are about the same price rather than one big thing. The big(ger) things are a new pair of Merrell’s, because he wore his last pair to death, and a tent (which would have been the big gift, but I got an email coupon for 50% off one item at the site I was looking at). I also got him a new pair of cargo pants, a couple shirts, some slippers, and a pair of Scrabble mugs (our favorite game). And I’m going to give him a copy of “I Like You” by Sandol Stoddard Warburg.

His big gift to me, because he called in a panic asking me to order it from my Amazon account a couple of days ago, will be a Kindle Fire.

My fiance lost his grandfather this year…They were really close when he was younger…so I’m having the two of them painted into a poker scene by an a really good artist….I know he’ll appreciate it…

Two years ago for his birthday—

When we first started dating, prolly 3-6 months into the relationship, I had his autographed jersey framed….we went and stood in line for hours at a local adidas store to meet Dwight Howard, the basketball player, and we got an autographed jersey…well this jersey just sat in the closet hanging up with everything else…so for his birthday I stole it, and had it framed at Joannes craft store, and it looks AMAZING!!! Well, I told him that I didn’t get him anything because I just didn’t have the money this year…we had just moved in together, and I had it wrapped up and I told him it was a gift from my mom, a picture that she had hanging in her house that I had always wanted…well we got to his moms house for cake and I made him bring it inside “so no one would break into the car”…and I told his brother to ask about it at the right time…THEN we unwrapped it to where he could see it and once he realized what it was he started ripping off the paper and freaking out….he seriously loved it…I was so happy…

He also LOVES those stupid 500,000 calorie frappes from mcdonalds, so for his 27th birthday I got him a frappacino maker…and the year before that he was always crying about his back hurting, so I got him a back massager thing from bed bath and beyond that sits on the office chair.

Mr. D and I are donating to each other’s favorite charities! I’m not big on gifts or presents, so I think this is a great way to give to each other during the season, while also giving back to the community. This year I am donating to the Boys and Girls Club and he is donating to the Autism Society. ๐Ÿ™‚

The Apple TV was the most expensive but I also got him an iPad speaker dock for his bathroom (he listens to music on his iPad while in the shower), an iPhone charging dock that looks like the neck of his iMac, some jammie pants and a bunch of small crap for his stocking.

Since we’re so wedding-poor right now (haha, okay not really, we’re just cheap and young) he’s getting several random items that aren’t super expensive. I’m getting him some new jeans (he ripped his favorite pair a month ago and whined), the Logo Game (been begging for it for months, we love board games), six pair of silky boxers (can never find them in stores! his fav. so I bought six, lol), Billy Madison (he always says he wants it when it comes on tv), a toothpick holder (he uses toothpicks all the time, which I find gross, so I’m getting the holder because then I know they’re sanitary), body wash, a new loofah, a personalized Steelers keychain (it looks like a license plate!). I didn’t spend more than $100.
