I got him a flying lesson in a Cessna! I almost always do “experience” gifts because he’s so hard to shop for! I buy them from http://www.cloud9living.com 🙂

VIP concert tickets for one of his favorite bands! It was a blast and he loved being so close to the band!

I took him out to a nice restaurant and I got him a huge bottle of whiskey, 2 shirts, and some snacks.

A USB Rocket Launcher.

It’s a blessing and a curse.

I don’t think I got him anything, but we generally don’t exchange gifts anyway. He got a car for valentine’s day. 😛 (not really planned though, lol)

@Pink Asawa:  His birthday is coming so I have started collecting. His hobby is photography so I bought him some filters, a new camera bag, a tripod, and I will be getting him a watch to add to his collection (he loves watches). I was planning a trip but that got axed because I’m starting a new job. My alternative is a weekend away in wine country with a winter wine tour and tasting. I will also get a cake and something small (that I haven’t yet thought of) to be from our puppy (yes, I am that lame).

OMG you people go all out! My husband got a sake set and a nice bottle of sake (less than $100 total).  We are pretty cheap when it comes to gifts.  We do not celebrate our anniversaries or valentines, and for bdays we do something small like perfume, or the sake set I got him.  For Christmas we might spend 150 or so, but usually not much more.  Last year I got a lawn mower, and he got a weed whacker.  lol.  Yep, we are those practical people.  We had just bought a new house with a big yard and we were going to do have to do lawn maintenance.

We use the money we save from gifts to take a nice vacation every year.  We are going one week to Costa Rica in December: spa, rappelling, white-water rafting, hot springs, etc.

You guys are good gifters, though!

@Pink Asawa:  it was my SO’s 30th so I got him a nice cuff bracelet with his initials, a little message, and the date engraved. I think I got him something else too, but just something small.

I bought him a new memory foam mattress. It was on sale and even though he told me not to, I bought it anyway because his current bed kills my back. I told him it was either a new mattress for me (we haven’t moved in together yet) or I buy one for him which essentially is for both of us haha

@Pink Asawa:  He really wanted some part for his car about a month before his bday, but he was debating it as it was pretty expensive. I told him I would pay for half as his gift (i hate doing that, i love surprrising people) but he was sooooo happy, like a little kid! Then on his actual birthday I found this place about an hour away that he had talked about once. They make this special mango mousse cake he loved, he was absolutely speechless when I pulled it out, he couldnt believe I found it!

I also got him some little gifts a phone case and a shirt so he would have actual presents on his bday. Oh and we went to Universal Studios 🙂

Running shoes. We usually don’t get each other birthday gifts, just dinner out, but it was a bigger birthday and I think he asked for them.
