Like the title says…
My aunt is throwing my shower with some slight help from DH’s two cousins (one male one female – siblings.) My shower isn’t until January 18th, but I have NO IDEA what to get them….
HELP!! Suggestions would be great, but be sure to post what you did as I might like it enough to “borrow” the idea from you.

My mom and Mother-In-Law threw me a shower with the help of my sister. My sister’s role was to run the games (which she also brought with her). For my Mother-In-Law, we got her slippers that she needs (my FIL’s suggestion). My mom got a gift certificate to a local spa (that she loves!). My sister got flowers sent to her. Basically, we tailored each gift based on the recipient and our relationship with them. I spent about $40-50 on each person.

I got my Mother-In-Law a set of flavored olive oils and vinegars as a thank-you for throwing me a shower. She loved them!

I purchased a nice candle and a bottle of wine for each hostess. It was the easiest way to pick up gifts. I felt bad bc I put a lot more thought into gifts for my bridal shower but I have just been so tired!
I have also seen people throw in bath products with a note that says from my shower to yours and I think thats cute if you know what scents they like. For my bridal shower I gave some of the hostesses a nice umbrella (like a rain shower haha) if they liked vera bradley.

This is my favorite candle and everyone is always excited to recieve it!

Mine was hosted by a friend of the family, with heavy help from mom and sister.
Mom – I got her a “grandma” book, where she fills out all this info about herself to give to the baby – she LOVED it. I also got her a shammy thing that keeps your neck cool – she is always hot.
Friend – a cheese board made of slate that you can write on, and a cheese keeper (galss dome)
Sister – she was leaving the following day for a trip to Italy and france, so a travel picnic blanket, wine cork and wine bag for travel home.

I got them each gift cards to Barnes and Noble in a nice card. Each of them, in her own way, loves books/reading/browsing. It really suited them.
They aren’t fussy (so no spa GCs), and one is allergic to flowers and doesn’t drink. So wine or flowers was out.

@MrsDiddles: The last baby shower I hosted & got a thank you gift for I received a beautiful pedestaled cake plate (I’m a baker). My cohost got three bottles of wine in a pretty basket. Basically, just buy for the host like you would if it was their birthday.

@BrandNewBride: Don’t feel bad. I’ve thrown 4 showers in the past year and only received a thank you gift for one of them.

I gave Godiva chocolate and a thank you card. They all said I didn’t have to but I really appreciated all they did for me.

I think I’m owed some gifts lol.
I spent almost 1k on my brother’s baby shower. I even flew my mom into town so she could attend the baby shower for her first grandkid. My brother and SIL only said thank you, not even a card :/

I took all three of them to get their nails and toes done then took them out to lunch and gave them thank you cards! Nails were about $50/each and lunch $20-30/each… But they spent so much time and effort!!

For Mother-In-Law and my Grandmother I’m getting her one of those books that records her reading to baby. And both SILs are getting diamond candles.
