So, I have a bridal shower coming up in the next month and I need some ideas for hostess gifts! Also, I think this is what most would consider a pretty large shower….I have 20 hostesses. Since there are so many hostesses, please keep that in mind when giving me ideas. We’d like to keep the cost to a minimum. Thanks so much in advance! Can’t wait to hear what you gave your hostesses!!! = )

I’m glad that I saw this because I didn’t know that it’s customary to give gives to the shower hostess. Is it very common?
I’ve hosted several showers and not received any gift or thank you. But I should know and start planning if that was out of the ordinary!

This is news to me….when i hosted a bridal shower i was not given a gift. I do not believe that this is customary.

I’m not sure that it’s customary – but I’ll definitely be getting something small, at least, for the two aunts throwing my shower. Probably gift cards so they can choose something they like, along with a card. 🙂

I gave my hostesses personalized shower gel and personalized soap along with a card that said that I hoped their next “shower” was as amazing as they made mine. It was inexpensive, but thoughtful because I wanted to show that I appreciated them 🙂

I got mine a gift certificate to their favorite restaurant and told them they deserved a great dinner on me. Groupon did wonders since we live in different states…

a nice bottle of wine and a delicious smelling candle packaged together.

The Bridesmaid or Best Man who hosted my shower got a cute set of Oliver appetizer plates from CB2. What do 20 people do to host one wedding shower?

It may be just more customary in the South to give the hostesses gifts? I just know that my mom was asking me what we were going to give the hostesses, so I thought I’d post the question on the bee!
@Ellegee: As far as what do 20 people do….this shower is called a tea/shower and I don’t really have a good explanation other than that sometimes in the south whenever they host a tea/shower…there are just a ton of hostesses. Wish I had a better explanation for you!

I’m having mine on December 8th, and I was thinking about giving them a Bracelet like this..
And one with a charm like this for my Mother-In-Law:

I had never heard of this, but it’s a great idea! My mom and bridesmaids are hosting (but not sure if it’s at another individual’s home), but I assumed the gifts we hand out to bridal party at the rehearsal dinner are thank you gifts for putting up with us and hosting all the extra events…

what if the shower is a surprise? obviously, I can’t bring a gift for the hostesses when I’m not supposed to know about it ( but I do) ?
