Hmmm… Maybe you could find a poem fitting that topic for them to share as a reading? Then that poem could be framed and displayed at the reception and in your home later on.

Otherwise if they are good at sewing or quilting maybe you could find a way to incorporate the beginning of a family quilt?

We’re considering doing a handfasting (old Celtic tradition of tying the bride & groom’s hands together with ribbons or cords) and having our moms come up to help tie the knot.

My Mom walked me down the aisle with my Dad.  We also did a ring warming ceremony, presentation of roses, and unity candle lighting.  I really like the idea that FloretteLiz had.  You could even have the Mom’s read various verses.
