I went to the gal that does costume work and alterations for the SF Opera… she charged about 500 to get the top remade; cups put in, spaghetti straps remaid, hemmed but since I had beading and no waist seam she had to rebead everything, and a bustle put in.

$57 just to have the sides taken in an inch

$30 hour – I needed only 3 hours worth.

Paid just over $300 to have it hemmed, waist taken in 2 sizes and bustle added.

I think mine were $500.  I had to get 4 in. taken in on the beaded top, cups sewn in, hemmed, and bustled.  My dress was assymmetrical with ruffles, so it made things more difficult.

$105 at David’s Bridal to have the bust taken in, french bustle added and sash attached.

$500 for bustle, hemming, taking in the top a little bit. Ouch!!
