$1099 for 5 hours.  Each additional hour is $150.

Plus $200 for ceremony sound system that we will use on the deck afterthe ceremony, so guests outside can still hear the music/DJ (this was my mother’s request).

Our DJ is a friend so he’s charging us $300.00 for the day (ceremony and reception). He normally charges $1500.00.

Ours was $1300, but I think we got a lot for that.  It was one of the more expensive DJs in our area, but we really liked them and what they offered.  We got:

2 hours of background music for cocktail hour/dinner

4 hour dance, with emcee service (additional hours for $150, and these could be added even that night if we decided we weren’t done dancing!)

microphones for speeches, which was really nice to have since our reception was under a tent in my husband’s dad’s yard, so we would’ve had to rent those on our own otherwise

a photo slideshow – we just had to send in our pictures, and music requests if we had any, and they put it together

a personalized website that we could send our friends to to request songs before the wedding, or request that they “do not play”

…and a few other cute little things that I can’t even think of now.  I think it’s really important to have a good emcee for your dance.  It makes things so much more fun, and I think people have a better time!

You left out my options. We are paying $1000 even and getting 7 hours of coverage plus dance floor lighting.

We’re paying $750 for about 7 hourse. This included music for pre-ceremony, ceremony, cocktail hour and receptio. Also includes 2 sets of speakers (1 outside and 1 inside,) dance floor lightening and he creates a timeline for us for music (ie fiirst dance, father/daughter, cake cutting etc.) He has nothing but great reviews and was easy to talk with and understand exactly what we want.

The price may go up to $900 if we decide to add a slideshow and if we do he makes it we just supply the pictures.

I paid just under $1000 for 8 hours of coverage … includes MC (if we want it), lighting/uplighting. We’ll have to pay another $100 for a gobo, but I haven’t decided if it’s worth … Anyone have any opinions on that one?

We are paying $1000…That includes 7hrs of DJ service with some lighting and 5hrs of photobooth with props.  We got a bit of a deal because the DJ is a friend from work who has been DJing weddings for this company on the side for the past ten plus years.

Ours is 1250 for 6 hours. He is going to do our ceremony and reception…he was actually on the cheaper end from some of the other boston DJs I was checking out!
