I wrote “so this happened…” with a picture of the ring on my finger. It was a like frenzy! Changed relationship status later that night.

I texted a lot of people but didn’t change my facebook status until we had told all of our family members… but people were posting congrats before I’d posted anything!  My one friend even tried to make it seem like I was pregnant (because everyone was saying congratulations but not why..)!  My brother was actually the first one to congratulate us on fb about getting married… and then once Fiance had finally told his grandmother we changed our relationship status and posted pictures of the proposal.

I didn’t have a chance to announce it to facebook first since my father in law posted a picture of us getting engaged, & a video of him trying to hear what we were saying (supposed to be a private moment not for the whole world to hear, so thankfully it was windy that day so the words are muffled).

I did post a picture of my ring with a caption saying, ” Most of you probably know this, but I’m engaged!”

Here is a picture of us getting engaged, & paparazzi Father in Law in the background. (My parents and his mom took pictures, but kept their distance to give us some privacy)

I had to wait to get ahold of all the parents before I posted anything, but I was bursting at the seams with pure HAPPY, so the first thing I wrote was: “I am the happiest girl in the world right now :D”

The next day, as soon as family all knew, we both changed our statuses and I wrote:

“Now that we’ve told all the family, we can announce it to the world: We are ENGAGED!!! And yes, that is why I am the happiest girl ever :D”

He liked it so he put a ring on it, followed by a picture of my ring!! It was a few days after the actual day because there were some people we wanted to tell in person!

@StinaBremm:  That was kind of like my posts…people had to read into it before they figured out I was engaged.

I posted a picture of the ring with a caption…”Just sayin”

A day later I posted a status update with something like, ” just got home from a typical vacation, flew into a hurricane, had an aborted take off, got advanced dive certified, engaged, went to Disney and ate way too much.”    some people commented with the typical vacation comments “hope you had fun”  and then circled back a day or so later and were like “Hey, didn’t see the whole engagement comment before..”  It was fun.

I just posted a picture of the ring on my left hand… so it was obvious what finger it was on.  Then, I flew home so I didn’t get back to my slew of messages until about 7 hours later (between flights and layovers) – it was so hilarious because half of the people figured out what finger the ring was one and were like “OMG CONGRATS!” and the rest were like “Pretty ring…”

I’m super private on fb and didn’t write anything. Some of my friends starting posting comments on my wall, though, before I’d announced the engagement in person to all the people I wanted to. Aaah, facebook!

First thing I did was call my mom and my sisters (who knew it was coming and the time it was coming so they were ALL together waiting for my call) Then I texted my BFFs… Then I made all the neccessary phone calls.

And then I posted it on Facebook. I think I just said, “We’re engaged!!!!!!” then I posted a picture of the ring, and then the proposal picture of him asking 🙂

We were on vacation with my cousin and his fiance in Mexico and on the second night at sunset on the beach, he proposed. He had a phone card waiting in the room so we called our parents, siblings and grandparents that night. We hadn’t gone on facebook since before the trip, but we wanted to tell the masses so we found wifi in the lobby to announce it the day after and I wrote, “Having an amazing time in Mexico with my fiance!!!” I figured unless people really read it the wouldn’t see it right away. I love saying things in subtle ways 🙂 He just wrote, “She said YES, now we’re engaged!” I didn’t post a photo of the ring, I don’t blame other people who do, it’s just not my style. After we updated our statuses we turned our phones off for the duration of the trip and when we came home the abundance of notifications was overwelming, but sweet to go through. Being on vacation while getting engaged was great, because we were really able to enjoy the moment without phone calls, texts and emails. And our coming home to our families was amazing!

Well since we decided to call and tell all our family members about it first, my brother and his sister took care of it for us and posted statuses for us on both facebook and twitter. So after that if no one saw that already then when we changed our relationship status they did.
